I’ve never had anything BUT blown HP in my boats until the 496’s in the cafe. Frankly I missed the blower power. I’m dumb like that though. Lol

I got a lot of respect for the guys running old school power cause it takes time and patience. I know I'm getting old cause I purposely bought another 496 boat instead of blue power so I didn't have to do anything but oil changes/impellers/plugs/etc lol. Told my teenagers that if they ever stop loving the offshore boat when they get older, this old workaholic will trade it in on a twin outboard tritoon.

the 496’s were great. Get in, fire up and pin the sticks. All day!

I did replace a block when we first bought the boat due to low compression but after that. Never one problem. We got the cafe as a beater for the kids. But now my 14 year old is like, “I want to go faster. Where’s the rooster tail?” Lol and my 10 year old loves it too so, time to get something a little beefier and faster. I think Elvis said it best, “Little less conversation, little more action”

Don't forget no top ends or leaky headers too lol

That's exactly why I bought mine. Watching my 13yo son grin cruising at 50mph and seeing that smile just get bigger the further I push the sticks forward is priceless 😊 I only got a few more years til the 15yo daughter is headed for college so it was the perfect time to get back in the game with another go fast boat.

You think you want big nasty blower motors until you get big nasty blower motors , then you`re like $hit, that turnkey boating was a lot less stressful.

Currently hunting for a possible second boat, outboard, for this very reason!

One of the main reasons I'm just keeping mine with a simple carb set up. I definitely love the idea of big nasty blower motors, but I don't know **** about engines or where to even where to start if there are problems. I'm lucky to know the difference between the prop and spare tire for the trailer....:picard1:
