Default 2008 39 top gun unlimited rework and upgrade project

This fall I am embarking on first phase of project 39 problemz redux. Started on NXT1 rebuild on port side and replacement of tranny back in July. October we will deliver the boat to Mark at Visual Imagination for a complete touch-up and re clear. Debating on redoing motor's. I think I may wait another year. The motors are in super good shape even with 430hrs on them. Prior to me buying the boat in 2017, the boat had headers and exhaust replaced, brand new manning trailer, brand new interior from Waves and Wheels. We added sea deck last fall. Once motors are done this year or next, the boat will be completely redone. Starboard drive/tranny have been done before and also after pulling the port tranny, will rebuild it to have a back up since that can be the weak link. Will post up some pics as we start.

Looking forward to it. Thought about getting a 42x, but really cannot give up this 39. Just cannot replace it.

Default 700sci stage ll. I have some of the pics, waiting on some pics of the paint work from

Mark at Visual Imagination. I would expect them to have some in the next few weeks. We are not changing the colors just touch up, but the entire boat will be recleared. It’s gonna look better then new.

Have to be 700s with the NXT1s.

this one must of slipped through the cracks at the end of august. Hopefully you can still keep us updated on progress blewsmoke. I think you made a good decision to stick with your boat, the 39 unlimiteds are some of my favorite hulls.

430 hours on warmed over 700`s I`d count my blessings and rebuild those top ends (at minimum) asap.

Lol, thought I added that to my original post but top ends were done @360 hours. Lifters, springs, rockers, the works. They we over due honestly and did them as soon as I purchased the boat. I plan on running them this year and in the fall they will be sent to Eric at Boyd’s in OKC. He did my motors in my 38 and builds an excellent motor!

Default Ya Jason. My engine builder and the guy that does

All my maintenance said I should be able to get 500 out of them with new top ends. We will see. 😁
