cant answer that. I’m not a HIN guru. Never get into conversations about HIN numbers. That HIN just struck me as funky. But again. I’m no expert on HINS. But I can tell you that isn’t the first playboy built.

Does anyone know the story on this 35 that has been listed forever it seems on yachtword over in FL? I was talking with LS about it and I hit the broker up a few times but he never got any info to me on it. Last email was they were getting new pix and he would send them along but that was just after the Miami show. Surprised nobody has mentioned it?

The fact that the clowns at yachtworld have it listed as a Tiger (42') , tells me that they don't know what's going on to start with. If it is actually an 03, then I would say it is one of the twin step mistresses after the agreement ran out with Playboy. Only a handful of the Mistresses were made. Problem with the 35 vs the 38 was the cost was so ridiculously close, everyone wanted the 2'' 6" that the Gun had going for it over the 35'. So Cigarette stopped making them, wasn't cost effective.

Here's a shot of mine before I put it in storage last year.

Yes, total clowns at YW. The ad said fresh interior (or something) and when I asked him for a pic of the HIN and others he said it was just done getting interior? The side of the boat that I assume whoever owns has "35 Tiger" written where you would normally see the 35 or 38 Top Gun etc. logo's for some odd reason. I hit the guy up twice for info on it but one time was he was just getting out of the Miami show and would get me some, then I hit him up again a few weeks later and he said it was just being taken out for fresh pix after the interior but never got anything. You don't see a lot of 35's so figured I'd throw this one in the mix since there is a topic on them.

The only Cigarette HIN I know for sure will tell you which production number it is, is the 39.

Maybe I'm wrong (it happens )… but if that is the correct HIN, it looks like it says hull #01, E1 would mean it was built in May of 2001 and was a 2002 model.

I looked at this boat today. It was on a lift and right next to it was T/S Gun. As far as freeboard, I was curious myself, so I measured it. At the windshield, it was identical. At the mid cleat, it was a little less than 2 inches lower and at the transom, a full 3 inches lower (rub rail to bottom). Its funny how much bigger the 38 looks, for some reason.

Here's a quote from Chris @ Oceanperf, ( He knows a thing or two about Cig's ) HIN's from Cig have had production #'s for yrs for those who dont think so.

CRT38104L485 for example. Gigarette 38 length, 104 production number, L 12th month so its December, The numeral 4, 1984 year built, 85 model year. So that is the 104th 38 Cig manufactured in December of 1984 and is deemed a 1985 model. Newer cigs start w UST #'s
