Hey Tank, let`s do a road trip!
That silver one over there is pretty freakin' nice and a very nice price in this market. |
That thing looks rough.

Anyone ever buy this thing and put it back together?

I saw that someone bought my old boat and installed a set of 1000 hp engines in it and also installed some Arneson ASD-7 drives. My guess is the boat would not get on plane as the Arnesons would have be mounted way to high due to the large notch in the transom. If he can get the drives lower, I'm sure it will be a great set up, but it will take a lot of work, lower engines, glass and recut transom and my guess is, fill in the notch. I know there is another 39 with ASD 7s, but I don't know if they had to fill the notch or not.
Someone asked why I sold the boat. Honestly I was just over it. It is an awesome boat, but it needed $10k in paint work, as shown in the pictures and a few other cosmetic things. Plus I kept the boat in Northern Michigan and live in Chicago. I just didn't use it enough. When I sold it, it was mechanically perfect with fresh engines, and new SCX drives. The previous owner (Italian guy) really didn't take care of the boat at all, and a lot of lying on what was done. I seriously doubt he know anything about it, other than how to turn the key. Either way, structurally it is a great boat. I do agree with Dan, how people get all these chips in their paint is beyond me. Hopefully the new owner, posts some pictures and reports how the new set up is working. |

That makes sense that he had to add the wedges to lower the boxes. I didn't think they would work in the standard location!
