TRS conversion to what?!?!

Hello!

I have a Cigarette 35 Mistress from 1985 with TRS drives. I would like to convert to SSM #3 or higher. 454 mag mpi

Whats is the best bang for the buck?

Best regards, Viktor Svensson

The problem with going to ssm 3 drives and moderate power will be finding lower pitch props. If you’re going to stay under 500hp I’d keep the trs or swap to bravos.

if you have 25 grand laying around put on the Konrads, they bolt up to the TRS gimble and are a couple inches shorter

i forgotten to tell my setup, i have two 454 mag mpi 385 hp. This summer i will run it at it is. But under the Winter 20/21 i will be mounting Twin turbosetup on the Engines aiming for 550-600 hp each.

The summer here in Sweden is very short so i have a lot of spare time in the Winter :)

sorry for the bad English.

Your best bet even at 550-600HP will be the TRS set up. If you were pushing 750HP I would be more concerned with TRS life. Parts are still out there and they are pretty simple drives to maintain if you have the right tools.

650 ok?

I am working on a similar project. I Have a 1981 33’ limited that I am build Twin ~650 Horsepower 454. No dyno sheets yet, but I was wondering if the TRS would hold up. 650 would be max horsepower. Not Going to race the boat just some high speed runs on the river. No full throttle hole shoots either. Thought about if the TRS would be ok?
