Man the hits just keep on coming.....
I changed the foam seal on the cabin door of my top gun (1993) and when I closed the door, that was th elast door on the spring mechanism and it locked with no way to open it.
I called a lock smith, he was able to pick the Yale lock on the mechanism several times but no connection to the latch anymore, so as you can see from the pics, it had to be totally butchered up to get the door open.
I called Lipship and she told me they haven't made that in a long time, no suitable replacement.

before I go the route of having it all filled in and find some west marine option, does anyone have one of these style latches laying around, or a whole cabin door - anything to get me out of this situation?
Has anyone replaced this with something else that is a suitable replacement?
Not even sure where to start here. As always thanks in advance for the help

Pretty sure that was a perko assembly and like marissa told you they haven’t made it in years. I swear if someone machined these up they’d sell a bunch. Seems a lot of people looking for them lately. I’d take one!

Can you tell how the latch mechanism was before the it failed? If so, maybe you could draw it up and have a machine shop or locksmith make you the part(s). Know any Mechanical Engineers at Boeing near you?

not really, not to mention the entire assembly has been butchered to hell... from what we can tell, the spring disengaged from the arm that goes into the slot in the door, so if it wouldn't have locked when it closed it could have probably been an easy fix. The spring going bad is what made it impossible to open.... gravity was working against us, if that makes sense.
