Carpe Diem getting some Whiples.
Had em polished and repainted and put in boat this weekend.
Can`t decide if I like the look. They are low, 5" lower than the 1071`s with TBS and flame arrestor . https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...f4b3992e8f.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...4b8f6f11da.jpg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...f1ebb14238.jpg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...1c6084c487.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...f6ba3fec31.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...343ad389c6.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...484bc3cc46.jpg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...16296e8097.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...cdc57e6f30.jpg |
They look tough! 🍻
|
Definitely prefer the Whipple look... but if it's not enough go Quad Rotors
|
I’m digging them. They look awesome! 🍻
|
Black whipples matter
|
They look great! Performance is going to be amazing..
Can't wait to see how well they perform. Congrats! |
Looking good! The white and red match perfectly. But now the crappy part is waiting all winter to run them.
|
Sick!!!

That`s what I was going for , had the bolts powdercoated to match cause I`m nerdy like that :D |

So hot! https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...9e7cdb2713.jpg |
NIce. Mine are going on this winter also :bananalove:
|
Looks great! I like the white/red too, its different.
|
Great looking motors. Saw the post on your Instagram. Can't wait to see it next time on the water !
|
How much boost are you planning on? Same as before or match IAT?
|
(BTR chicago) Who dis? :D
Hogie, I`m trying to run the same boost or maybe a bit more (8-9lbs) Trying to figure out what pulleys and belts I need now. Whipple says run it 1-1 but that seems low to me . I was 4% over on the Roots .. I`m thinking Whipples need more rpm but I don`t have a starting point .. maybe I`ll try 10% over and go from there. |
I am friend of Brandon ( Panty Dropper), Shawn (Without Permission Top Gun) and Jimmy (Sonic).
I have Formula Fastech. We meet briefly few times this summer. My Instagram is Home and project. |
Looks awesome, I really like the hi tech modern look of them in white with the red. You followed the theme throughout your boat the attention to detail really shows. :Score-101010:
|
Please tell me that you figured out a way to keep the "Surge" button functional, with this setup. That button was fricken cool on your last project!

it will be harder to get the roll with the whipple because of the bypass but that button changed how the idle stabilization pid control was handled in the ecu. It will be possible If keep if he wants to. |
The surge button added 15* of timing but pretty much anything could make the roots surge.
I`ll see how different the whipple is. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=imC8...ature=youtu.be |
Yea when you added 15* it idles up and then the iac pids react and then the timing oscillation starts to compensate and then it starts it’s roll.
|
Hard to beat the look of the old school blowers, but I think with all the cool updates you did to this Flat Deck, the Whipples fit right in. They look great. Have you hit 100 MPH yet? Gotta be damn close.

94 was my best but more like 89 in the summer heat and 92 everyday with cooler weather loaded with gear and fuel.
I really enjoy ordering parts and putting things together , I hate that starting and testing part that`s where all the frustrating stuff comes in. maybe I`ll just look at it all summer instead :noevil: got the throttles figured out (opposite side than carbs and push/pull not pull/push) and my fuel system is done . https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...b15033d39e.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...f16e3d3035.jpg gonna need to put the flame arrestor on them 3000cfm throttle bodies, they look like they could swallow small animals. |
so not hoping to sound stupid but i havnt had but one set of MILD blower engines. But i have some ignorant N/A 540s and we need timing to strengthen the idle in gear quality.this is not at all questioning anything. why does the advance of timing at idle make it surge? is it manifold vacuum? btw id love to have that switch!

You can watch the timing in yellow and next to it is the Iac count .: Ken , I have the flame arrestors . |
It looks great. If you need any parts made up or machined I would be happy to help you out if I can. Let me know I appreciated your help when I needed a couple of switches.

Breathers can`t go in the back of the blowers anymore so they got powdercoated and remote mounted :
