I’m familiar with Carter and his work. Does some really amazing restores.
Not sure he did this one though. Interested in seeing more pics and details. Really good looking restore. |

TS stands for Twin step which is the bottom configuration, Top Gun is the model name, early Top Guns had straight bottoms without steps, some also had notches in the last foot or so before the end of the transom. Cafe Racer is also the model name but were never offered with steps, some only a rare few were produced with a notch.

Boat was in Houston TX. That’s a wrap on it. Looks great. I went and looked at it to buy but it had a motor failure. They put a new motor in and it sold shortly after that. It’s got 540’s making about 600ea and bravo ones upgraded to xr’s. Cabin and cockpit are clean. I believe he had cockpit redone a few years back. Overall it’s a clean Cafe and the graphics on that wrap look great especially coming out of the inlet like that!
I have several pics of it I can post. Carter’s is top notch for Cig restoration! (Just saying) |
I know I`m supposed to ignore the open hatch but I can`t . Why is the hatch open at speed!?!:hitfan:
I think mine would rip off if I did that |

The amazing thing is they are running along like nothing is wrong, plus someone photographed it and let them go.

I’m thinking that once you are at that point in that inlet there isn’t much option.

That's not an oversight, that's a "feature".
That is cold air directed forced induction for additional power and acceleration when going down hill. |

I bet that cotter pin pulled out of the roller wheel and that puppy was just flapping in the wind! Makes me cringe thinking about how much of a beating those hinges are taking and the little bolts that hold them to the transom! Brutal.....

but the damn thing looks like it handled the beating. Who knows what happens up close. Screws and bolts stripped and bent? Or maybe nothing. Got beat up and kept on truckin! |
