Fender storage .

Decided to put them un-used gas tanks to use.
Got some bulk floor material and had em make me a new floor.

Very nice job.

bajaman 01-10-2021 06:21 AM

Great looking results!

seafordguy 01-10-2021 06:57 AM

Looking good. I hate storing fenders - they are bulky and awkward.....

Rick G 01-10-2021 09:25 AM

Great job Dan . I have an unrelated question related to my thoughts on staggering my flat deck . How much smaller volume wise did you shrink your fuel tanks and how much shorter did you make ? Thanks RG

I keep forgetting to take those measurement for ya !
used to be 140 gallons each now 60 gallons each I think .
I have 100mile range which is good enough for me.

They now they end at the bolsters .
I can take measurements

Looks good Dan, those seat frames are *****en

Rick G 01-10-2021 12:07 PM

Thanks Dan , I am trying to shrink the cockpit the least amount that I have to. I am guessing I will have to shrink tanks about a foot so given what I see in your picture they will still be over 100 gallons . Cheers RG .

wow came out great!!! awesome idea especially love the booster seat frames!!!!

quick question on the fuel tanks...we have a 1994 which has access panels to the tanks. Your boat looks like it has a different setup? You had to cut the floor out?

Looks great, there is never enough room for storage. That worked out great having the old aluminum tank for the bottom. Should be easy to keep clean.

Twin O/B Sonic 01-10-2021 06:00 PM

Love your idea!

I thought I discovered the afterlife yrs ago at the Miami show when I found a booth displaying inflatable bumpers.

A pump, 4 bumpers in a soft side bag approx 12 x 12 x 12.

Problem surfaced when I needed bumpers the first tine.
Where to stop/float while you get them out and inflate them??
And hope your situation allows it.

Think I’m going back to real bumpers on current project.

Keep in mind they do go all the way into the bilge under the step. They are not just what you see in the pic. but a foot isn`t going to make much difference

74" from transom to bulkhead and it looks like 4" from transom to back of trans.
I think the measurement you were looking for is 70"

I added these for more storage and to move weight to the back. I have tools, spare parts, prop, oil, octane booster, etc. Now I have room for my bumpers up front where it's more convenient. Water tight and fire proof too.

Eddienel 01-18-2021 04:28 PM

Great idea ThisIsLivin . How are they mounted?

FYI, "tagging" somebody on OSO does not do anything and doesn't send them a notification.
