It will run 82 mph everyday and 85mph on its best day. These boats are always in between props. 30’s will jump right up on plane and have great mid range but will be on the rev limiter at 80mph. 32’s will struggle to get on plane and will give you the best top end but very sluggish along the way. 30 Maximus’s are awesome but will break the xr’s 🤷♂️

Assuming it is a 38' Top Gun with a standard side by side 525EFI & XR setup...
...83 when fully loaded up and
...87 light load, perfect conditions, propped correctly with a driver that knows how to squeeze out the last couple MPH.
IF the motors are not tired.
It's pretty much an 85mph boat.

Thats a pretty dead on description of a 525 TG from a guy that is not normally a Cigarette fan! Hahaha! I thought you knew more about those Active Thunder boats??? LOL....Im just breaking your chops man...LOL...its Friday, I must be in a good mood...obviously winter is over because my depression has lifted! Have a great weekend Brian, and everyone else for that matter!...

LMAO!
I have branched out a bit thanks to good friends; I get to race cars and play in boats. Remember I spent a lot of time driving Brad’s TS/TG back in the day (as well as the F2 when Gary Sanchez owned it).
Enjoy your weekend too Kevin!

I agree that with 260 hrs on them I would say the top ends are due for a refresh. Especially if they are earlier 525's, then they are ticking time bombs with the weak internals on the heads. Also if they have the early version CMI headers then I would be inspecting them as well while your there. Not trying to beat you up, but just saving you from a why did I spend all this money on the boat moment and realize your still out way more in maintenace updates.
