Engine hatch Clearance? Cafe Racer
 

Just wondering if anyone knew a height you could clear in the engine bay of a cafe racer 1987 model from what I can tell is the original hatch. I want to do everything I can to never cut the hatch or something got added later with chargers. I found a set of engines ( picture attached ) with markings in the picture and they measured 14.5” what’s your thoughts ?

I have an 89 Cafe with tall decks and TRS drives. I have to run the lowest intake possible with 1050 dominators and 3 inch flame arrestors to clear the stock hatch. I just measured it and have about 13 inches from the top deck of the block to the hatch. I know there have been some guys that have made taller hatches. Check with Glass Dave or Vincent from Vincent custom paint, I believe they have molds for taller Cafe hatches.
