Deck hatch hinges
 

Does anyone have a picture of how their deck hatch hinge is mounted to the inside frame on an older 38 Cig Topgun?

I don’t have a photo but the hatches are secured by little metal pins that sit inside a small
hole in the hatch and a small hole drilled into the drain canal of the deck the hatch sits on. I’ve NEVER seen anyone carry the pins. And I can only imagine the pins are push pins like a wrist watch pin that holds the bracelet to the watch face. One was broken on our cafe and I never got it fixed because I couldn’t find the part.

the deck hatch hinges are spring loaded pins that are just a quarter inch round piece of stainless rod. Some have small grooves that, in theory lol, you can work back into the hole with a small blade (something like two dull kitchen knifes to work it back in hole). In the dozens and dozens of Guns ive had my hands on its maybe a thirty percent success rate they will come off as intended. I think i have some pics on my shop PC ill try and post. The aluminum blocks that hold the pins are glassed in both the deck and hatch and older ones can oxidize because of the dissimilar metals.. They can be a real pain in the . . . well you know what. Most i end up cutting out and totally rebuilding the block.
