Off To California.
This was way harder on me then I imagined.:o
Wasn`t just a boat to us, like a family member . We made great memories on this boat , my kids grew up on the boat we had many a trips together as a family that are priceless. Also many hard times and frustrating times. 1000`s of hours of labor , sweat , blood and tears, and barells of $$ It ran better than ever but I knew I can`t pull another engine or drive on this boat .. can`t do it anymore. I wish I would have had the time to test out the brand new props I ordered but it sold in 8 hours so I didn`t get that chance . I have a deposit on a Nortech 3600supercat, I think that helps lol |
Congratz on both Dan. Time to build new memories that will continue to last a lifetime man. The 36 Nortech IMO is an awesome ride. My wife and I have always loved that model. Cheers!

As one chapter closes another begins, over the last few years you pretty much kept this place a live with your build thread good and bad..........congrats on the new rig see you at the lake......:ernaehrung004:

That’s a tough thing to watch.

I remember when Dan first started tearing into the gas tanks and I thought to myself this guy doesn’t have an idea the can of worms he’s opened up, but he persevered and than just kept improving his Cig over the years.
Many have started projects on this site and later walked on to other things . It’s been very interesting and informative following his threads over the years and hope his new Cat isn’t on its 8th Life 🙀 but this site needs the followers. 😹 |
I absolutely hear that about them basically being a family member. Having a deposit on the next one helps tho!

I remember when I first joined the site, I bought a 25' Active Thunder and I didn`t know what the lanyards did. You guys had a good laugh over that one.:D |
Haven`t seen it in person yet but it looks super clean !
Tall Deck 572ci * The heads are Dart Pro-1 that are ported * The ignition controller is a MEFI 4 with Daytona sensor controller and coil. * Isky solid roller cam with T&D shaft. 1.7:1 rockers * Positions are JE * Block is a Dart tall deck * Rods are Carillo * Crank is Lunati with an extra key-way cut by Lunati for the blower configuration. |
Way cool.
Love it, love it, love. Your Cigarette, a Cigarette, could not have had a better care taker than you. Mr Don would be proud. Well done sir and welcome to the next chapter! |
Maybe I can still hang out here if you guys let me ... The Nor-tech forum is prretty dead .:party-smiley-004:
WTF am I going to do with all the Cigarette stuff I have now!??!?! |
Congrats Dan! No looking back brother. Only looking forward. Always loved the 3600’s. I was seriously considering one myself before we bought the gun. They’re fantastic boats. Can’t wait to see what you get. I’ll look for your cig out this way.

NICE inboards right there! how much will cost the insurance on the 36? I too been looking at these for years... |
WOW that thing is clean !!! That makes the Cigarette leaving the driveway a little easier.
|
Congratulations!

Damn I didn't expect to see this post. I have been on the fence to sell my Top Gun with people inquiring about her. Haven't been able to let go... Good luck on the Cat.
|
Nice I have always liked those cats. They are big for the length, first time I seen a 40 I thought holly chit!

Congratulations!!
Can I assume a little responsibility for connecting you with your new boat? Just curious if it was on your radar prior to me sending you the listing. Have fun! |
Congrats! I loved following all your threads along the way and I admire your persistence.....I would have hung myself years ago or bought a johnboat with a 9.9 hp...lol !
|
That looks like an awesome nortech! Clean! Having that in the wings, yea I think I’d be ok with the cig going to a new home.
But I did notice those aren’t big whipples on top. Might have to fix that… 🤔 |

Can’t wait to hear what you think about the Nortech in the Lake MI slop.
|
Tough to see it going away, but sounds like you needed to move on and try something else. I got a few things like that too and just don't want to deal with the loss of an old friend.
|
That's OK, you always keep the memories and the pics to remind you of them. The boat was just a tool that's used to help make them.
|
Contgrats Dan. My favourite all time flat deck it’s the flat deck mine wants to be when it grows up. As for all your cig stuff you could always donate it to the Rick G flat deck foundation lol. Cheers and good luck with the next adventure. Rick G .

Loved all of the posts over the years! Keep it up
