1988 Bullet
Picked up a new project over the weekend,
She needs some luvin...was a pre project that he got tired of? Been in storage 2 yrs, pretty much stripped and cobbled. Cabin has new cushions is all, rest stripped, sides,carpet even toilet seat. Cockpit bare besides. Large bolsters in need of repair, back seat mold only not attached, sun pad board only, but do have some foam pieces and covers for patterns. Was told when got boat had blower motors, imco drives n props. Now a 330 on starbord, mag port set in. Drives, Bravo 1's no props. He sold engine's,drives and props, put in what had laying around. Positives, good bones, stringers,transom,gimbles newer, upgraded gauges and controls, k plane pumps work, drive pumps work.Oh and a sweet Cigarette aluminum trim axle trailer. But wasn't set up for boat, way far back on trailer, had zero tongue weight. Was a sketchy ride home, lucky was only 2 hrs away. Figured out quickly, max speed was 50-55. Going to gut the boat and start from scratch hull up. As to power going to upgrade mag, I have another mag to install, rebuild the B1's. Pretty good at fiberglass, mechanical and wiring. Guess going to need sewing classes NOT. Lol Have always wanted a Bullet, love the old school lines..Boat on Lake Erie, so will see what the wave crusher will do on the fresh water close wave caps. Hopefully in a couple yrs. |

Best of luck with your Bullet! They handle the rough stuff better than most in their class...I also have an 88' Bullet. I just posted some pics in the "Let's see em" thread above if you want some ideas. Please post pics of your Bullet and keep us up to date on the progress of your resto, These boats are getting harder to find so its nice knowing where to find one.

Have been working on ours for a while now (before I owned it and into now). Almost there but still a ways to go! Paint will be the biggest expense. Anyone want to buy a Formula 311? I need some Cigarette money. |

Been busy getting Fountain ready for bed. Then clean up the Bullet winterize engines then pull them to see what I have. Hopefully they both check out so I can make a matching pair |

Mines a little better… but same… a running project. She’s probably got a good 125 hp more per side so should be entertaining to run next summer so long as we don’t break anything. I’ve been spoiled with transmissions bulletproof drives so I’m going to miss those… I see the potential for broken Bravos in my future.

Nah, Bravos pretty good, running one on my 29 sportfish, about same weight, pushing around 520hp. It's heavy bow, so always dragging. Ran a full hr, 5200 w/ 5 adults n 2 coolers and didn't have any issues. I'm sure others will chime in.

The boat ran in the 70s but he was pretty conservative running it hard hence the drives staying together with 550 hp (guesstimating - basically 420s with B&M 250s, single 850s, and 5 lbs). I think she could have turned 28s. The boat is too heavy and drives too deep to spin anything near a 32p. |

i never noticed before about the bubble revolution style deck on starboard side only !
is the starboard side cabin ceiling higher than port? does not seem to according to pictures! nice resto project you got there! post pictures of your progress! |

1988 Bullet
The documented name is Unfiltered, last name of owner is Cerra out of RI
Does anyone have any info on either, I would like some history on this boat. It came to Ohio and was stripped of all the precious metals, Blower engines, imcos? from what he said cause he sold them. She's pretty rough, but has good bones. Looks as has new bravo gimble mounts that looks like were caulked with painters caulk and came with used B1's and mismatched 454's Regardless its all coming out and getting re done. |
Been collecting parts, not done nothing due to getting fountain engine freshened up. But collected a set of Lighting headers, crossovers and a set of weiand 250's. So that helps with the base 496's 9.5-1.
Gonna start resto.this winter. |
