Looking at Cigarette TG 38 at Big Thunder
Hello all, new here. Looking at a TG 38 from Big Thunder Marina in Lake of the Ozark’s. It’s listed on multiple sites as a 1993 for 99k but I’m in SoCal. Does anyone know the boat “Probably Shouldn’t Have”, previously “No Permission”
I can’t post the URL until I’ve had ten posts. Any help would be appreciated. thanks, dish |

don’t know the boat personally but seen it online. Lola like someone updated it real nice. Spent some coin on it for sure! Looks like a really nice ride. Those drives with blowers will be the weak link but just be easy on them and you should be ok. where you at in so cal? Be nice to get another cig around here. There’s only a handful these days. Bought our current top gun from big thunder. Ed was very easy to deal with. By the way, if you buy it, I HIGHLY recommend leaving it there and boating on ozarks once or twice before it heads to Cali. LOTO is fantastic. |
Tg 38
Tank, thanks for the reply and the info. Ed has been very helpful and I look forward to meeting him in person. This will be my first big performance boat and I will definitely have to take the drives into consideration. I’m in Huntington Beach but the boat will be in Havasu. I definitely will take her out on LOA before returning west.

I wouldn’t be as scared of the XR’s as everyone else is unless you’re planning to romp on it out of the hole, run it WFO and leave the water a lot.

Babied a Bravo behind a supercharged 540 last Sunday. Would have been nicer not to have to think about the drive. |
Found a couple of Apache 36, that Bobby Saccenti built, for sale. One 1999 was totally re-done by TNT in 2013 and have modest hours. It's got very modest power
but should be bullet proof with XR drives. It's in Louisiana. The 2nd one, 1997, is a monster with pretty fresh engines and drives. It's local to you in San Diego. I would work the price on the one in Louisiana if you don't need crazy power. It sold for $180 five years ago, now on FB marketplace. I don't know the San Diego one. Bobby Saccenti raced the twin-step 36 model and won as usual. https://www.yachtworld.com/yacht/199...or-36-9857002/ https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...ae40133012.jpg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...360fa5f2ab.jpg |
link to Louisiana boat?

That white 36 is gooooood lookin!
|
Heavy Straight bottom + Blower motors + Bravos = you better have a LARGE drive budget and keep one in the back of the truck.

The 1999 in Louisiana, owned by Ryan Whittington. Reach him at (337) 602-6zeroThreeTree Asking $129,000.
Totally restored the last 4 years. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...cd9dd76c81.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...f69b8bac16.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...235bb219f1.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...1914163768.jpg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...b74795fa31.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...e87afaf9b0.jpg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...b5a9a74c98.jpg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...4beb2bea7a.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...32948eba57.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...7b109463b1.jpg |
Jesus! 130 for that?!
I remember that boat. Was the graphics a wrap? They looked good. Although the white always looks good too. |
The graphics was done by TNT in 2012/2013. The all white was paint during complete resto by current owner in 2021. It scoots
surprisingly well. Saw a video on the owner's Facebook page. Don't know the fellow, but he's got a large audio business catering to boaters mainly. Claims he's selling to invest in another business too. His customers seems to like his audio shop. If I had the coin I would buy it for my younger brother. |

you need to list it on boat trader, powerboat listings and on here. Our cafe sold in a few months and was bought by a nice gentleman that is on zero social media. Congrats on the purchase Duane. Beautifully restored and upgraded Lipship gun!!! Can’t wait to see it in person! |

Honestly, it would be tough to find a Cigarette of that vintage that has never touched Salt Water. These boats were designed for the ocean, and most have hit up at least a couple of poker runs if used properly. Also, if taken care of, and flushed, washed etc. Should not be a problem |
Oh no another boat that’s been in salt water. The landfill is full salt water boats.

Successful first outing.
Took the Gun out today with the wife for the first time since getting her home from LOTO. We got fuel, OMG that was a traumatic shock and then we put in at Huntington Harbor. Took her down the coast to Newport Harbor for lunch and then a sunset cruise back to Huntington. Big thanks to Ed at the beginning and Tank at the end for my boneheaded newbie phone calls. Can’t wait to take her out again!!
