Tiger Vents
Where do these vents go? Are they for engine air intake?
I can look in there and see raw fiberglass but are they molded into a drain or intake that runs back to the engine bay? im getting water leaking over to the cooler area and that is not alright with me. I’m pissed. |
no pic

Sorry - got sidetracked. I was talking about the 2 large intake vents in front of the CIGARETTE block script just in front of the windshield. Stole this photo from the internet of a boat that I assume has small blocks in it…….. |

Stole this photo from the internet of a boat that I assume has small blocks in it…….. Those ducts pressurize the cockpit to ensure adequate ventilation for the crew at speeds in excess of 90 mph. You can just block yours off as they will serve no purpose in your application. |

[QUOTE=Sydwayz;4933119]The ones on the deck too?[/QUOTE
Well yes, provided the dryer vent hose is still attached. The four NACA ducts on the sides of the hatch will turn into exits once you’re going fast enough to pressurize the engine bay. The only other opening in the engine bay is the two runs of 4” PVC pipe that run to the helms. In Mr. Ancarrow’s case the water is probably coming from the ducts on the hatch. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...24dcaf129.jpeg I already anticipated backlash from you so I snapped a couple of pics before I left the shop lol. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...d2af7a0e0.jpeg |

The carpet on the right where the little cooler inset is is getting wet and the upholstery is damaged now. This boat is inside 9 months a year and only on my lift during the summer. If that’s dryer venting all the way from those vents to the bilge then I’m sure that stuff has deteriorated and needs to be replaced. Just not really sure where it’s routed….. |

I’m that case you might want to check the hatch gutter drains. Plastic tubing connects the gutter to an overboard drain on the side of the deck just above the rub rail. That tubing may have cracked or come loose from the nipples. Irregardless you’re probably looking at dropping the head liner. As far as the dryer vent routing it runs just on top of the 4” PVC pipes where all the control cables and wiring are routed. |

My mom is doing better, thanks for asking. |
On second thought….
The blower hose has to connect to an outside source from somewhere. I think the NACA duct on the deck might be that source. I removed my blowers and dryer vent ducts first opportunity I had but I’m thinking they were connected at the bulkhead fittings I sent the photos of earlier. The opposite side of the blower hose was clamped to the transom and terminated just above the notch……I think.
Blowers? We don’t need no stinking blowers. |
