we have a 2024 3500 Duramax. We had a 05 Duramax that was chipped. It got 20 plus mpg with out towing and like 14 towing. The new truck with all the emissions BS averages 12-17 mpg not towing and 12 to 6 mpg towing. The see and emissions just destroy fuel mileage. The ten speed is amazing the truck over all is so plush and nice and drives and tows like a dream. Towed the boat from ca to az full of fuel a few months back running up grades at 75 no problem! But dang the gas mileage sucks. Lol. And fuel is up to $7.50 a gal for diesel in ca.!! Luckily it only gets driven like 20 miles a week usually when not towing.

but whatever. This trips gonna be awesome. Looking forward to seeing the road and towing with my boys (17 & 13) who are boaters and love it. Gonna be fun. Plus hopefully big Dan is towing his gun out with us so, should be a good time. YOLO baby!! Let’s gooooooo!!

I wish I would have waited on prices but was still using a 96 OBS ford that was chipped, exhaust and intake. Pulled great but 45 min on the road and you were hating life.

I swear on those old trucks when you ran over a cigarette you could tell if it was filtered or un filtered.

Oh yea, a 96 is straight axle'd too yea? Rough ride for sure. And thanks, it's a 3" lift on 35's / 20" Method wheels. Fox shocks all around. Didn't need the helper bags since its a 3500 and has the helper leafs. no sag. The ride in that new truck is pretty amazing. And the interior is as nice as a benz! lol It's the wifes truck really. Originally lifted it 6.5" on 37's but it was too high for her so we dropped it down to 3" lift.

Bring some jerry cans when you come out. Diesel here running about 4.95-4.99 in town around the Lake. A couple places are around 4.80 There is a place close to Performance called Rapid Roberts, they usually beat everyone on fuel prices.

lol. I don’t “have to” run it I just like that it will potentially limit pre detonation and just seems to run cleaner and better. I’ll usually mix it with 91 or sometimes just fill up with it, depending on where I’m getting it. In ca you have to get it from the airport in our town which can be tricky. But they only charged like $6.50 a gal for 100LL. In az they have 100 and 110 at the pumps in a couple places. 100 non ethenol is like $8.25 110 is $10 a gal but that was before gas hikes so I don’t know what it is now. Barrett ordered me sunaco 95 for Supercat, it was 9.50 a gal. I didn’t like it as much as the 100 though. But I think there’s still 100 gal of it left so will finish that off.

I had to put some 100 in mine in Havasu at the Riv dock. Swiped my card then figured out the hose would not reach my boat so put it back to move. Mind you I did NOT dispense one drop and the pump charged me $4.19!! WTF!
