Crucian Gold 94 TG…
Morning Fellas, this is somewhat of a double post being its on here and FB. Disregard if you’ve already seen it.A buddy of mine down in STX bought this Lipship TG a couple months back; the elderly former owner wasnt what one would call forthcoming with much of the boats history. Possibly out of disgust, old age, a couple too many Dark&Stormys,or a combination of all 3.
We’re curious about the history of the boat, pretty much for the story. One small tidbit of info the geezer managed to rattle off was he believed the boat was laid up in Kevlar. At this point it’s unverified; we’ll further investigate for the partial layup. Once we get derigging we’ll sniff around for the customary yellow/gold woven fibers that turn fuzzy when sanded, yadda yadda. I called Phil last night but it was a few minutes after 5, so they must have left for the evening. Will try again today. The boat will be getting a rerig/refit in the next 6 months. Dan @ CPD will be building a new set of solid roller, iron head 555s, and hopefully Craig @ Coleballa (can anyone confirm Craig’s phobe number? the one listed on his site doesnt work) can tackle the boxes and drives. Interior will be done on Island, and general plumbing/wiring/etc etc will be done on island as well. What we do know is the boat HIN# CRTUST15H394 is a Lipship extended cover girl cabin. Boat was rigged most recently with a set of solid roller 565s Eric and Joe Corretti built and shipped down island in 18. The previous owner ran the boat out of Jost Van Dyke until he shrapnaled the STB motor; its unclear at this point prior to inspection what the cause was, it was undisclosed, the motor is gone, 1/2 the exhaust is gone, the only eerie partial evidence that remains is the pictured piston with 1/2 a conrod still clinging to the wristpin for dear life… I’m gunna fly down a couple times this winter/spring to help get the boat back to some semblance of its previous glory. I’ll post some more pics and progress as we dive a little deeper into this. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...a8e2e1cd4.jpeg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...131766501.jpeg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...9be3d8167.jpeg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...9b52e9422.jpeg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...7f7c828d4.jpeg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...fd78c1944.jpeg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...1c617c896.jpeg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...83b0782a9.jpeg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...3c0dc0dde.jpeg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...5aaf838bc.jpeg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...9ff008bc0.jpeg |
I got nothin' except, looking forward to following along in your build. Looks to be a rather tall order. Call Philly during business hours and I'm sure he can tell you a few things about it.

I legit opened this thread, expecting to see the (in)famous Gucci Edition 37’ Aronow Heritage from back in the day. I wonder where it is now.

Gotta say in my somewhat limited exposure compared to a good handful of you Gurus, I’ve never seen a Bravo setup without a coupler of some form. Thoughts? I mean this has got to be murder on gearsets and cone clutches? The setup @ the transom is Stellings Ex box to Bravo XR.

Exactly what you are saying. My Gun had stelling boxes and shafts direct to flywheels.
I was eating XRs like pancakes lol Went to SCXs longer driveshafts', couplers and never had another issue. right around 800 HP. |

Ugh, geezus.. I wonder if a splined stub to ujoint could solve this to facilitate the use of a HD coupler. Similar to this-ish….

Oh man what did you get yourself into?!
I`m going to guess you`re going to spend about $200k for starters. Why Iron heads? |
