I HAVE JUST REMOVED PERRELLI IN MY BOAT, THERE IS THE NON SKID STANDARD FLOOR UNDER IT. DEPENDS ON WHAT TYPE OF GLUE THEY USED, TWO PART EPOXY IS TOUGH TO GET UP WITHOUT DAMAGING THE GELCOAT. DO YOU HAVE IT IN THE CABIN? THE 97 WOULD HAVE STANDARD GELCOAT FLOOR IN THE CABIN.

DOES YOUR FLOOR HAVE STAINS? SOMETIMES PEOPLE USE THE WRONG GLUE UNDER THE FLOORING AND IT WILL BLEED THROUGH.

Thanks, and yes there are stains.removing the flooring seems like a lot of fun!!! Were you able to clean the glue/ epoxy? What kind of results did vou get? Are you leaving as is or replacing it with perrelli again?

THERE WHERE TWO KINDS OF GLUE USED ON MINE, THE INSPECTION PANEL AND FOOT RESTS ON THE COCKPIT FLOOR THEY USED CONTACT CEMENT WHICH DID NOT BLEED THROUGH AS BAD, THAT GLUE WAS REMOVED EASILY WITH "GOOF OFF", THE REST OF THE FLOOR SHOWED STAINS AND THEY USED EPOXY, WHICH I HAD TO ORBITAL SAND ON, I AM REPLACING THE FLOOR, IF YOU NEED ANY INFO ON PRODUCTS AND PROPER GLUE LET ME KNOW. I HAVE REPLACED THE PIECES ON THE FOOT RESTS USING THE EPOXY GLUE SUPPLIED BY FLOORING MANFACTURE, IT WORKED REALLY WELL. ALSO THEY HIGHLY RECOMEND USING THE PROPER CLEANER ON THIS TYPE OF FLOOR, TO HELP KEPT IT FROM STAINING. LET ME KNOW IF YOU NEED ANY HELP

I HAD TO TAKE THE INTERIOR OUT BECAUSE THE FLOOR RAN UNDER THE BACK SEAT, THE FLOOR PULLED UP FAIRLY EASY, 2 PEOPLE, NOT A LOT OF GLUE STAYED ON THE FLOOR, MOST OF IT STAYED ON THE BACK OF THE FLOORING. EMAIL IF YOU LIKE [email protected]

Hey cig, I'm getting ready to put down the same flooring. Its going over a wood floor in a Nordic. Lonseal is the name of the company and they tell me they sell it to Cigarette with UV protection. Its white witha wave pattern. Is this the same as yours? Any tips on installing this and keeping it clean?

that's the same stuff, lonwave pattern, white cap color, use the #300 two part lonseal epoxy adhesive. I made a pattern out of poster board and duct taped it together, marked it on the back side of the flooring. then I used a 4ft. straight edge and sharp utility knife to cut it. Fit like a glove.

Any holes in the floor from seat stands, brackets etc. I marked on the pattern, after I laided the floor I put the floor pattern on top of the new floor and located the holes.

the 300 two part adhesive is made for plywood.

I paid $32.00 a yard for my lonwave. hope this helps,

do you have any seams?

rtn137 03-11-2003 10:38 PM

No seams. Thanks for the help. Getting the 300 epoxy also. Laying it out will be the hard part.

$32.00 a yard? Holy ****!!!!!! I never priced it. A good friend in the aircraft carpet biz and fellow boat freak is getting it for me.

How thick do you put the epoxy on? And do you spread it on the back of the sheet or on the floor?

Thanks alot,
Tim

Your right, holy ****, but cigarette is $60.00 a yard.

Making a pttern is not hard, use the poster board, 2'x1'6" and some duct tape, fit the poster board to a corner mark with scribs and cut with scissors, lay next piece of poster board overlapping the first, fit to side of boat and duct tape to first baord.

the direction or on the can, use a notched trowel 1/16 by 1/16, lay your flooring in the boat, fold half of it back on top of other half, spread glue on the boat floor of this half, put the folded half back on the glued floor, repeat the process on the unglued half.

hope this is clear. I can take a pic of my poster board floor pattern if it would help explain.

went do you plan on doing this?
