In the rough stuff bigger is better. The Tiger is awesome in big water,it's a real machine.Top Guns are great also,I've had both.If you have the room go for the Tiger. The T/S boats are fast in calm but a little funny in rough.A friend has a T/S Top Gun and in rough stuff he said it's like riding on marbles. The guy to call is Craig Barry at Martin Marine,ex-pres. of Cigarette and knows about Cigs.

I have never had any problems with my T/S gun in rough water. The only "weird" feeling I have had is if you have other baot wake hitting you from the side, but you get used to it.

I had a 35 TS and it was great in rough water but like Hav Cig said when you have wakes coming at all directions like the start of a poker run it gets a litttle weird. And Craig would be the one to talk to.

Rode in both at 80mph for a good bit...(38 TopGun and a 42 Tiger)
The 38 was a conventional bottom with 700's and 3's. The 42 also a conventional bottom with 750's and Bravo's.
They rode the same...The Tiger needs 3's and more power as to it feeling very under powered.
Could only imagine what the 38 would feel like with about 900HP's.
Hi Dean

why would you say 700s, when you know it barely makes 600 Marky Mark...
700 next year if im lucky

Had a 38TG, have a T/S - 575'sci's

T/S is a smoother boat in big water, and engines are bulletproof at 80-85mph, 150 hrs later. This would compare to 750's in a non-T/S which would burn about 20% more fuel, and double the maintenance. However the non T/S can be had pretty cheap.

The Top Gun was a great boat, and have nothing bad to say about it. It's a classic that will never go out of style.

Unlike the constantly changing crap by some of the wanna-bee's

Great description. That is a very accurate comparison.

Not sure what a T/S is but I was in a 2002 42 Tiger over the weekend with Imco's and KE 675's. Definetly impressive...94 mph on the GPS on fresh water with 300 gal fuel and 3 people! Bay was kinda whipped up with some 3 footers and the hull had absolutely no problem with them at 90. Real nice package!
