GUN or Tiger
 

What's perfered a late model TS Gun or a non TS Tiger. I been looking at Guns,,,but the Tigers,,,have some great deals going around. Does anyone...really know the differences...and characteristics of the two?

The Tiger T/S seemed to run better with average power. Like 575's.

The straight bottom Tiger handled the big power better but it took more power to run. A catch 22.

I would buy the T/S. You get 85mph or so reliably. The Tigers with huge power are going to be faster but barely.

The new 42-X or Tiger XP is built to handle bigger power and it is stepped. They are brand new though. No steals unfortunately :(

We love our 2001 T/S Gun. It is a solid 80 mph boat with stock 500 efi's, and handles big water great.

Thanks for the replys...is there a big difference in a TS TIGER vs. a regular Tiger. Seems theres a 1998 for sale...looks interesting...does anyone know about the boat??

i think the 98 your looking at is called jungle fever. I think it was the first tiger ever built.

as far as gun vs tiger, we've owned both. We had a gun and it was awsome, great boat, very roomy cockpit. And for the tiger, AMAZING. The tiger we currently own is stepped with 500efis. The boat is a real wave crusher. The boat will handle anything you throw at it. The only thing with the tiger is that theres so much deck that really helps it in the rough stuff but that reduces the room in the cockpit a significant amount. There both awsome boats.

Are you inland (fresh Water) or on the ocean???

In the big surf a Tiger will ride better. I would stick to a T/S if financially possible. There is a reason why non-step Tiger's are cheap.

Nothing wrong with a nice gun. Thats a boat that you can buy without steps and still run HP500's.
