6 Blade Props on Top Gun T/S

I have a 03 Top Gun w/525's ITS and sport masters. It has 32 bravo 4 blades now. I get a lot of blow out when trying to plane. Has anyone tried Hering 6 blades? The boat runs 86-87 mph

Can't have everything it's obviously proped for speed. Carefull Parnell props for the rough stuff he'll walk by you in the waves! :D:D

Yes, I good friend of mine has. They didn't perform all that different than the Bravo's that were on it before.

Cigracer,

Did your friend have a similar motor and drive set up? When did he try them? Lip-ship highly suggested I get them.

Thanks,

p.s. GLH I'm not worried about Parnell, he will be rebuilding his motors this summer from running all winter.

He had the 575's with XR's. Basically the same setup. He tried them in the 2001 season. They may work for you. He just didn't think there was all that much difference. He didn't have sportmasters though.

My suggestion would be to try the Hydromotive Five Blades... Are the props spinning in or out??

M39976 01-09-2004 07:36 AM

They are turning out.

Cigracer,
I think the Herring's our friend had were 5 blade not 6.

You are right there was no performance gain with them.

Spinetickler ('01 38 TS with 575SCI`s) went from 88 to 92 mph just by swapping to Hering 5 blades.

He bought them from Lipship

Oh yeah they were 5 blades. I had forgotten.

I would first try spinning them in... Helped a great deal with our T/S...

I just ordered a set from Phil @Lipship. He says they will pick up the cruise speed from 53 mph@3500 to 65. They should also help it plane in half the time.

He also said it should pick up 1-2 mph.

Phil is THE MAN!!!!!

He runs his business the old fashioned way, with Honesty.

Hmm, 2003 TG outta GH???? Did you race a little 22' velocity coming out of grand haven last summer?

M39976 01-21-2004 07:05 AM

Yep, that was one of the 1st times out.

You have a pretty fast boat! What motor is in it?

Mad Hatter 01-21-2004 11:11 PM

Thanks! 502 hp 500, that wasn't the best I could do but I'm sure you could still beat me, just not as bad. ;) My little boat was all over in that wake, although it didn't look like you were even noticing it!:D That thing was just laying flat in the water. Very nice boat. Love the colors.
