Originally posted by P Offshore I played with X dimensions and extension boxes on several flat bottom (non stepped) hulls and did not get any better performance really. The best improvement was changing from TRS to Bravo and we went up 1/2" that seemed to work pretty good out of the hole and also good top end. One inch up I had too much prop slip hard to plane (lots of blow out) and less top speed by 2mph. Extension boxes and several X adjustments caused the boat to porpoise constanly. With 975hp a side and standard X we got 93mph full fuel, people, and adult beverages. Almost forgot we ran Hydromotives and Bravo 1 4 Blades |

This can be a nozzle blow-out (loud, but basically harmless), an end-cap blow-out (where all of the pyrotechnic force blows FORWARD which usually does a pretty good job of removing any internal structure including the recovery system) or a casing rupture which has unpredictable, but usually devastating, effects. :D:D |

Kinda what I thought but we never broke a drive on that boat; of course it never left the smooth water lake with that setup either. It did have alll the latest Imco goodies.
It was definately a time bomb though! Is CATO an oil field term? |

Cato is a rocketry term. You know those geeks that fire these home made rockets. It refers to a "catastrophic malfunction".
I don't have a clue about miniature rocketry but I saw that in a Discovery Channel show once and they described the term, I tought this might apply too more than rocketry. It seemed to apply here so I used it! :D:D |
I hope I can use that word someday it sounds kinda cool!:D
