Dano 03-15-2004 12:14 PM

I would say so. It certainly looks like a very nice piece.

GREEK LIGHTNING 03-15-2004 01:19 PM

Dano, if it is Plastered's Top Gun, and it sure looks like it, I could tell you from personal experience it is a very well maintained boat. Tony is very meticulous with his toy. Tony traded the boat in to National Marine for his new 46'. Call Bill Hionas at 330-369-6030 or 954-772-3338. The boat should be located at the Florida location at the executive airport in Fort Lauderdale.

"SONIC DANO"...........Coming over to the dark side ???:D

Dano 03-15-2004 02:56 PM

Yes that is the one. Haven't personally seen the boat yet but the pics look like it has been well cared for. Working with Tommy at National right now, nice guy, pending the water test should be a done deal.

Birdog...thought you would be happy to have another one running around out there :D

Didn't want you to be lonely...

I read that thread...What a story...Blow a drive....buy a 46......Makes perfect sense to me!:D :D I guess i have the disease also !!!
Sweet looking boat Dano !!! Call me ASAP upon delivery!
I want to see her

GREEK LIGHTNING 03-15-2004 04:59 PM

Dano, Good luck with the purchase. I have never met Tommy. I always deal with the owner, Bill Hionas and have never had a problem with them. This is my third Cigarette I have purchased from them and they are truly awesome to deal with. Occasionally, National gets a bad rap from some people but EVERYONE who has ever purchased boat(s) from them seem to agree, they are great! I guess based on that info you draw your own conclusion. I assure you Tony's 38' is sound. Buy with confidence knowing that you are buying a well maintained boat from a highly reputable dealer who will exemplify the meaing of customer service. I may sound like a commercial for them but believe me I get no compensation what-so-ever. They truly go out of there way to make you a satisfied customer. Also, get a hold of Tony on this board. Tony is a no b.s. kind of guy and he'll give you the low down his boat!! Also, ask him if he had a good experience with National. The best of luck to you.

Dano 03-15-2004 07:29 PM

Greek,

I've bought a few boats in the last couple years and so far National is making it very pleasurable. Tommy is an employee (I assume) but good to deal with none the less. I have a very specialized boat that I needed to trade and unless I want to mess around with it.........

I sent Tony a PM but don't know if he received it. If you can, please have him give me a call at 513-227-8038 I'd appreciate it. Unless there is a significant problem it looks done.

GLH,
Been there with the 575/XR-32P and up combo and I bet it was the port side drive? It's enough to make you trade a beautiful boat for another if it happens enough. I think I have the solution there...hopefully anyway, been running that combo for a while. So far pretty successfully.

Birdog,
This mean ya' make that first full tank payment? You still realize that this puppy will still spank you (yuck,yuck)...however, I do have the option of significantly bigger power...

nah...I'll keep it for six months and shop again.

Tell Tony to watch that center one with the trips...:D

Tony was rafted off to us in a poker run last year. It is one of the sweetest boats I've seen. He won the best boat award at the run, and you couldn't meet a nicer guy.

National Marine...great to deal with......also worked with Bill Hionas and Blume....couldnt have been nicer to deal with.......first class operation for sure......will definitely deal with them again on the next one.....

What exactly is that supposed to mean

Dano 03-16-2004 09:18 AM

Nothing negative what so ever. I do not know the heirarchy at National just stating that the operation is smooth enough that I didn't feel like I had to talk to the owner to get something done. Actually, that is a significant positive in my opinion. As I stated, Tommy has been great to deal with.

I appreciate the feedback on the boat:D

Dano 03-16-2004 09:21 AM

Spitfire...love those graphics.

mcraymond3 03-16-2004 08:27 PM

That is tony's boat. It is beautiful and very well maintained.

plastered 03-16-2004 09:11 PM

yes thats the old plastered, Dano, i called and left message on your cell,GLH, that was not my boat at national, but i do know the boat you seen, when i blew the drive at gilberts, martin offshore came down that night and brought her home, you think i could sleep at night with out my baby being tucked in sleeping under cover, what happened was i hit a piece of wood vibratated the coupler for the spacers i have in the drives, did not destroy drive,by Monday noon drive was fully rebuilt both drives are new, boat was pampered to death, if you do by this boat ,and somone asks you what year it is, tell them its a 2005, cause thats how clean it looks.... ps please take care of her:( :( :( pss she is currently sleeping in her bunk at hidaway

GLH 03-16-2004 09:38 PM

My mistake excuse me looked the same.

plastered 03-16-2004 09:43 PM

no prob cuz, the funny thing is that one of my best friends just bought that boat that you saw there ,the boat is sweet.they are replacing the drives now, imco extremes..

GLH 03-17-2004 06:52 AM

The boat was choice nothing but changing the drive no big deal. If anything weird happened when the drive cato-ed the coupler would of protected the engine. Once repaired no harm no foul!

Dano 03-17-2004 07:10 AM

Plastered,

Got the message...I appreciate you taking the time.
I'll give you a shout at the office in a bit.

PS:
Don't worry your baby will be in good hands!

Now thats service!!!!!

Dano 03-17-2004 09:56 AM

Tony,

Just wanted to thank you for taking the time to discuss your boat with me. I felt good before but even better now. Don't worry I'll take exceptional care of her and visitation will be arranged:D

Good luck with the Rough Rider and look forward to hooking up with you on a Poker Run in the very near future. Were heading to the Caymen's in April and I'll try to stop by Ft.L. If not, we will definitely be down in June for the Bimini trip. Again, thank you and I really appreciate all the background on the boat.

Dano

;)

Yes she has a special place here at Martin Offshore. Boat never leaves untill it perfect.

Dano 03-17-2004 03:13 PM

Ok guys...now I just have to come down and actually touch this. I was just having it sent up without seeing it but..... it's snowing here and I'll be in Dallas anyway...sounds like a detour roadtrip is appropriate.

Tony,
I will be in Ft.L on Fri the 26th thru Sun the 28th. If you have some time maybe we can hook-up and have a drink.

Everybody...really appreciate the feedback. If I can do anything to return the favor...

Paul, you would be most welcome to come along. I'm trying to time the delivery of the boat with completion of the new garage. :D :D :D

plastered 03-17-2004 07:59 PM

cuda 03-17-2004 08:24 PM

I don' think you could find a nicer gun, it is in top shape.

LEOPAJM 03-19-2004 12:46 PM

Tommy is a great guy to work with !!! And he'll take good care of you thru the buying experience ... Your also in the right place if you have a somewhat "obscure" trade !!!

JM

Dano 03-19-2004 01:51 PM

Tony,

Yep I think Sarasota is that weekend. We're set to water test the TG on Saturday in FtL. When does it start-up?

Dano 03-19-2004 01:53 PM

JM,

Tommy has been excellent.
