Full cabin 38 Twin Step

..just surfing around the classifieds and I found this beautiful '01 TS Top Gun that has a full cabin and enclosed head. I have never heard of a full cabin Twin Step Top Gun. How many were made? Is the cabin lay-out the same as an older non step TG?

Sure is one cool looking ride!

Love the classic 90MPH paint

I think Martin Marins currently has a T/S Tiger with an enclosed head I had never seen that before.

I like this red and white paint scheme better like that then with the red part in front like the posters of the "90MPH" version floating here.

Does anyone know if the boat @ Randy Sweers has a full cabin?

The boat Biggus posted originally has an extended covergirl cabin. Not full.

As far as I have heard, there are no t/s Topguns with full cabins for two reasons. The first is for weight considerations.Since the t/s boats ride level and not nose up,the extra weight in front would not work.secondly I heard that the the new layup and stringer system cannot accomodate a full cabin.(space-wise).

PM is correct, the step does not allow for an enclosed head. The only altenative is to relocate the head to the center of the cabin, then add a partion wich would reduce the cabin half to half of its size

Here's aTS Tiger with an enclosed head.

Thats a cool boat that you posted. That '97 came from the factory with the rare extended sunpad option and the rear stand up 3 man bolster . . who owns this one now ?

Technically, its only one half of the scheme . . on the build sheet for the boat in post #5, it read something like "Half 90 mph paint" or something similar

FWIW :)

Dhlaw, How does your buddy like that 97? I like the paint. I put a deposit on it over the phone a while back as the salesman told me it was in excellent shape. Had some friends go look at it for me and they laughed at me, said it was rough, so I bailed. Did he repower because he had to or wanted to? Did he buy it right?

Yes the 3 man bolster setup in that boat was really nice. I looked at that boat when it was brand new at Everglades back in the day. Still have pics somewhere.

I may have been the one that showed it to you ;) :)

It was either me or Harold Marvin.

I bet it was you. It wasn't Harold. We looked at it a couple of times. I loved the back bolsters. It was basically the same as our gun that we already had, so we decided against it.

I miss the good ol dayz at Everglades

'97 TG w/ HP500's

I can recall a situation like that . . it being similar to what you had . . . back then, alot of people shyed away from this boat because of the stand up rear bolster ( lots of people liked the extended sunpad though ), the sheer concept of having it and it being good for poker runs was kind of in the infancy stage.

Harold sold this boat new to a gentleman in Boca Raton ( Steve something ) . . from there, it sounds like Tony then bought it . .

Damn, the white '92 47 Fountain SC thats on the right side of the above photo we had for sale forever . . .

I think he paid $98k and the boat was in pristine condition. In fact the day he went to look at it it was soo nice he bought it right away!! He upgraded the engine because it only ran 72mph, now it is producing 730hp per side and runs mid eighties..... but he still is working on the prop situation. I have offered to let him run some of my Gladiator props to dial in. We will see. One thing is for sure, this boat is realy nice. Super clean and a stereo that rattles the windows in waterfront homes. He bought it this way.

lucky strike 03-25-2004 12:45 PM

My dad looked at it when it was for sale down here. He said it was in excellent shape and the 3 man bolster was very cool. Just wasn't what we were looking for.
