How much does a Cafe weigh?
I'm looking at a mid-90's Cafe Racer...any idea?
Thanks. |

Originally posted by GLH The first time I pulled my Cafe it was with a Tahoe on a Saturday morning...we had an Excursion by the following Wednesday and my knuckles where back to there natural colors a couple weeks later after that Saturday morning drive. Even with my small boat, my Tahoe was all over the road (compared to the Sub)...must be the wheelbase. I ended up putting air bags on the rear of my Tahoe, which helped a little. On the Cafe, I was thinking if it was close, I could put air bags on my (Z-71) Sub...but I don't think that powertrain would be happy for very long. Too bad the diesel isn't available- Mrs. HH really likes the Sub (and I really like the Cafe). |
Just buy the boat and it will force you to buy something to tow it with.:D

New Tugboat??
Yeah, just get the boat and then you will be forced to buy a new tow vehicle... :hothead: :D |

Originally posted by Steamin' Rice New Tugboat?? OK...so far I need a new truck and new storage (no drive guard or swing-away). Anything else? |
yeah i can think of something..... since your in the giving mood, you think you can loan cuda 80,000 so he can get a cafe racer. it just kills me to see him riding in that junk box formula. hes like a grandfather to me and im just looking out. oh yeah , hell need a storage space too. cudas buddy, Mr. Wonderful

Originally posted by Steamin' Rice I paid my $50, so they have to let me in here.. |
Originally posted by Havasu Hangin They don't have a section for your current boat? |
Originally posted by Steamin' Rice Nope...No current boat.. They don't have a section for my old boat or for my new boat.. If so, better dip into the trust fund and buy a board section for your boat...while you're at it. :D |
cafe
I have a 03 2500HD(quad cab) with the 6.0. Bought a 94 Cafe a month ago in texas and pulled it back to the Ozarks. It did not phase the truck one bit. Just dont put in overdrive. The diesel will get better gas mileage. Good luck

I guess I did it backwards. I bought an 03 Duramax Diesel/Crew Cab, now I'm lookin for a Cafe to pull behind it. I here that the cigarettes are considerably heavier than other boats the same size. It doesn't sound like it from the numbers I see here. Do they really suck more gas than other boats the same size. Sometimes I feel like I have to sort the pepper from the fly ****!

Deep V models

The upside to that is that they ride VERY well, and you tend to stay nice and dry :) |
Re: Deep V models
Originally posted by Jamie B. 1) yes they are, but 'considerably' is subjective. As a comparison, a non stepped 35 Fountain Lightning weighs in at 8,600 pounds ( approximately ) and a 35 Cigarette Cafe' is 9,400 pounds. |

Re: Re: Deep V models
Originally posted by GLH I don't think you can compare a Cafe and a Fountain 35, you need at least a Fountain 38 to have the same length. There IS a photo floating around on here where a 35 Cafe' is rafted next to a 35 Lightning and it does indeed dwarf it. :D |

Here's a Cafe docked with a bunch of 38'ers

Originally posted by chewy1955 1) I rode in a 33 formula SS (2000) with twin 502's and Bravo III's and found the the ride seemed much heavier. Very comfortable but not really what I expected. It may have something to do with the way the weight is distributed on the formula too. I remember thinking the the bow was to short. 2) With the "more wetted surface" will the "Cafe" still give a nimble and aggressive ride? 2) Aggressive ? I would say no. Nimble as far as carving turns ? Yes. Its actually a very forgiving hull. If you misjudge water, a deep V hull like a Cafe' will forgive you and plow right through with little fanfare. |
