1) True, with a normal fiberglass hull and in fresh water.

A lightweight carbon fiber hull will run 2-3 mph faster than that in fresh water.

Thanks, rebuilding my motors and looking for around 80mph.I would think 502's built to 600hp should be pretty trouble free non blower motors?Anyone have a spin on this?

Yeah, the 502's 'should' be fine. If your going N/A, its always best to start with the biggest displacement that you can though ( ie 572's / 588's / etc )

What props and rotation?
Mine was with 26" Bravo 1's non lab, spinning out. I would guess 23 Mirages spinning in would get me 72 or 3

How about 720 HP w/28 labbed props (inward) and Imco 1" shorties?

Bigger cubes would be the way to go but need to work with the 502's. Sounds like I might have problem reaching 80mph W/600's.Is that realy pushing those 502's to hard? I would like them to lassssst! Any input?
