Props on Cafe

Everyone out there is saying they use 24's with Stock 502's. When I get my boat back the engines will be roughly 515HP per side. What props should I be running? Any ideas. I will probably get labbed props.

Go to Go-Fast.com and do your due diligence with speed calculator and prop slip calculator based on your current result and add the supplemental HP.

My guess is 26" labbed maybe 28"

Have fun.

I'm running approx. 500Hp,1.36 Bravo's 23's at 5000rpm@ 72mph

With 1.36 gears, you should run labbed 22" Bravos

With 1.50 gears you can probably get away with LABBED 24" Bravos.

I had Labbed 24" Gary with only 415HP at the prop pushed 68mph at 5050rpm with 200 more HP I think he can hack a little better.
Ratio was 1.5

I know A lot of guys out there are running Spinelli props but I hear they don't make them any more. Who's the best or the worst

My labbed 24" 4 blades were Spenelli's I think he retired however.
Talk to Matt at trottle up he'll hook you up, you can flirt with Julie also that's always nice.

I think that 200hp (100/side) would take the 24" Bravos up to around 5200 rpm to run around 73 mph

Makes sence Gary I had it in my mind not to pass 5100 rpm .... my bad. You know all that stock power motor training, us dumb Vermonter don't think outside the box much.

slumlord 05-12-2004 02:16 PM

The guys rebuilding the motors dyno them in at 5400 RPM. However I don't think they gain much horsepower after 5100. The engines are going to be built to withstand the added RPM's. (Hope thats makes sense)
