'04 gladiator vs. T/s 'Gun question...

Re: '04 gladiator vs. T/s 'Gun question...
I like the looks of a Glad too. But not having a rubrail would freak me out.
Can you imagine yourself running around w/ the lines trying to fend yourself off a piling? If you have a good crew then you should be OK. Also a cabin is a nice thing. You are gonna crawl under the dash to get under the deck? Have you been on both? |
Re: '04 gladiator vs. T/s 'Gun question...
Here's my worthless assessment.
The Gladiators are awesome. More of a sportscar. I have driven a few and they are an absolute blast to drive. The hurt back issue of sitting down is not much more than a myth. I felt very comfortable, secure, and part of the boat in the seated position. It's easy to move around in the boat. The front storage can be a little out of the way, but you can secure your items ahead of time. Have fenders attached and ready before approaching the dock (not after) and you will have minimal dock rash on your paint job. They mainly take a little more preplanning than a Top Gun, which I personally don't mind at all. They are built 2 ways. One with a narrow cockpit, which gives you more room around the sides to walk to the front. The are also built with a wide cockpit, which obviously give a little more cockpit room, and narrows the sides. I personally prefer the narrow cockpit configuration with wider sides. The T/S Top Guns are incredible. More like a supercharged SUV. They will run through any water. I don't use the cabin for sleeping, but I do throw towels, lines, cd's. use the built in cooler, and the overall space always seems to come in very handy. I have the smallest available cabin with the Cover Girl (not extended). The Top Guns are an 85-86mph boat with the 525 setup on AVERAGE (I know some have claimed to have seen more). A Gladiator will be an 88-90mph boat equally powered. Theres my take. I've driven both. I would snatch either one up in a second. It's up to you. |

Thanks to all!!
PRG-T/S Your assessment is not worthless, mostly dead-on what I already knew or assumed. If i could go w/a 575 or more hp boat I think TG all the way. I want the most boat(usable) i can swing as the cabin is of less importance to those of us that WISH we had Brandons life. I'm thinkin' Gladiator unless a 'Gun sneaks up on me or my current girl decides to buy for me!! Greg |
