anyone know this boat?
3 Attachment(s)
This boat is for sale at Lake Cumberland. It looks like it needs quite a bit of work. Is it too big of a project? What is it worth? No power or drives.

Re: anyone know this boat?
IT'S A NICE LOOKING BOAT BUT YA NEED TO SPEND ATLEAST 100,000 TO MAKE IT A FAST BOAT IS IT WORTH IT, TO ME NO IT'S NOT EVEN STAGGERED
THE DONZ JR MIKE |
Re: anyone know this boat?
hey donz jr, as you know the're not very many staggered guns. thought you would know that!!! so talking about tricking out a gun that does not really come into play. mat, you need to get that boat right. 100,000 is not right. get that boat, and throwing a 100,000 into it to make it bad ass will not hurt you so bad in the pocket..... go price some guns with #6s and big power no matter what yr. big dough... your on the right track.... only if you get a rig like the one your looking at for the right price... maybe the donz jr, mike can help you out.... stecz

Re: anyone know this boat?
The boat was owned by a guy in Mt. Orab Ohio, 30 minutes east of Cincinnati. It was traded in for a Fountain I think. I am sure Cumberland Marine can give you his name and address. If not I can find it. They have not had it long.

Brian A gun without power and drives for a Fountain............... probably an even trade. :D :D |
Re: anyone know this boat?
that's still steep for a gun with no power...and it's not a staggered boat either...

Re: anyone know this boat?
What should one pay for this boat as it sits? The cabin and cockpit need to be completely redone.
|
Re: anyone know this boat?
when I saw the boat last (early spring) it looked to be in good condition for a 1990 boat. The trailer looked good and the boats paint looked good. I did not see the interior at all. He was getting gas when I saw it. Not sure if that helps or not.

Re: anyone know this boat?
How much hp to get the boat to 80mph?
|
Re: anyone know this boat?
I would guess that because of light weight, no cabin etc that 525's would get it close. I am sure that someone else will have some better insight.

My $.02 LS JR. |
Re: anyone know this boat?
LS, you are right. It does have a cabin. Anybody have any idea as to what this boat should sell for?

Re: anyone know this boat?
600 to 650 will bring you close to where you want to be. with a little tweaking im sure you can get to where you need to be. if you can get 750 per side even better. at 750 you will still have you reliability, with 200 hr rebuilds... 600-650 youll do even better. hey mat, why dont you just cut to the chase and call phil or tres martin, they can answer any question you have.... mat, you know what you have to do, and with the #6s you can do it slowly. start off with around 650 natural, if you want more get blowers, if you still want more go bigger.. i dont care what these guys say, if you get a rig like that right and throw a 100,000 at it you will have a very special boat with some resale value. im not saying you will get every penny back, but you cant expect that. you know that. you will be very close to what you want to do. call tres..... or phil, both will have you in the right direction..... dave

Re: anyone know this boat?
I called on that boat a while back. I think they wanted $85k. It seemed high to me. By the time you get it running right you've spent $200k easily.

Re: anyone know this boat?
What is a fair price?
|
Re: anyone know this boat?
I would do the math "backwards." Start with your "full" price where you would be comfortable with the boat you want to build and start subtracting the prices of the pieces to complete; i.e., $55k for engines, another $50k for drives, labor, miscellaneous parts, etc, etc.
