Do you know if they make "snap in" stainless mesh inserts for the scoops? (I am thinking of making some this winter) I assume those are foam, where did you get them?

Im running some similar, ebay, Jegs, Summit all carry Harwood scoops with foam inserts

frickstyle 10-05-2015 11:36 AM

yes, I did find them. Felt stupid after I posted, Summit racing as always.

My question is: does anyone make a stainless mesh insert you can mount from the inside? I plan to fab one up, permanent mount to keep tops from getting sucked into the blower belt.

I've not seen a mesh screen, but have seen a single 3/8 or so dowel with threaded ends in between the top and bottom for support, looks kinda janky but serves the purpose. The outer ring on mine over lap the opening about a 1/2 inch and the foam is about 3 inches deep

I don't know of any, but McMaster Carr has the stainless mesh, you could cut some easily and install. I usually remove the plugs to run and put them back for washing. I buy the plugs from summit.
