Models and Values
For approx the same amount of money, which would you want to buy: an 1984 38' flat deck with 502's vs. 1987 Cafe Racer with 454's vs. 1988 Bullet with 454's? Which would be most desirarble in your opinion and why?
Thanks |

Give me some good details on the flat deck vs the cafe racer.

Re: Models and Values
All things being equal (condition and power), I would have to say the Cafe'. But more info is needed to give good advice. I own a Bullet and that's what I bought because it was what I could afford. A Cafe' in the same condition as my Bullet is 15-20K more expensive. I know a few people who had a heck of a hard time selling their Flat Decks. They were very nice upgraded boats, but the potential buyer pool is alot smaller.
Are you planning on keeping the boat for a long time, or just a few years? Do you have the ability to work on these boats yourself? Do you have a tow vehicle to pull one of these lead sleds? :D Have you checked on insurance? Any of the boats are a good choice...it's a Cigarette!!!!!!!!!!!!! Craig |
Re: Models and Values
Cafe no question.
Craig had many very good points to think about. |

I have had both TG'S and a Cafe. Cafe' hands down! :D
One thing to always understand about a Cig, the bigger the power the better the ride. |
Re: Models and Values
why a cafe over a TG??? I have heard stories about the CAFE porpoise issue.
Is this a true statement or a myth. Trying to get info because I'm buying a Top Gun next year, so some info would be helpful. It will be a used one between a 90 to 96 model. I did look at Cafe's but the price is about the same for both. Thanks |
