Retail Value
What was the retail value on an 88 bullet in 1988? With standard rigging?
|
Re: Retail Value
I have a reprint article from Boating mag, that was originally done when Cig came out with the Bullet. The then CEO wanted more of an entry level boat with 3 numbers in mind. 30, 60, 100. He was wanting about a 30 foot boat that would run 60 MPH and cost about 100 grand. Apparently did pretty well hitting all 3 numbers. Altho the test boat with some options, including leather and shore power pushed the price to about $107K. Hope that helps.

On the title to my bullet it originally sold for 135,000 when it was new in 1988.

Gripit, Congrats on your investment. There are a good handfull on this site that own Bullets. Carter has a real awesome '88, Birdog, to name a few. I have 2, an '88 and a '89. The 1st batch of '88's had a non notched transom which I have. The '89 I found for a friend but his financing fell thru. Restored the boat back to day one condition and is up 4sale. Hate to get rid of it but cant keep them both.
The Bullets are quite heavy as you found out but is a wave thrasher unlike anything else. You have come to the right place for any questions to help out. Between all the Bullets owners here there is a wealth of information so dont be shy to ask away when needed. Post some pics and give of some more info about the boat. |
Re: Retail Value
Thanks cig1988,
I will post pics in a little while, as I do not have the boat just yet. According to my HIN, this boat was the forth out of the mold. I was curious about the knoched transom? What exactly is it and what are the pros vs cons. I obviously don't have a knoch in my transom. Thanks |

Gripit, I have scanned the article. Rather than taking up space on this website it might be better if I email them to you, and anybody else that might want a copy. I can put all the pages into one "zip" file to save space and make it convenient. Good luck.
BTW, I have an '88 as well, and love it. Here is a pic of mine, and the cover of the article. Boy what a pain to make sure the size meets this sites requirements, sorry about having to turn it sideways, but thats the size law. John www.sunriseuph.com |
Re: Retail Value
lakeluvr, can you shoot one of them to me? [email protected]
thanks in advance. |
Re: Retail Value
cig1988, your file is on the way. Be advised that it is almost 700K so over a dial up connection may take a bit. And you're welcome. Enjoy.

Re: Retail Value
While looking at the pricing list, it seems the trs drives were the more expensive option vs Bravo in 1987. Why was that? Is trs better than Bravo?
Please explain? |

Please explain? They require transmissions. |
