Putting the Cig up for sale

Lack of time and storage space. Need to concentrate on building my business so I can move out of So Cal in a few years. Then maybe T/S TG?

Re: Putting the Cig up for sale

I got it in March. I bought a new trailer for it and some other stuff, new carbs, shift cables, etc. Basically got it dialed in. I just haven't had much time to enjoy it. I did take it out last Sunday by myself for a short run. I kind of figured it would be my last pleasure cruise with it so I got to the harbor around 7 AM. With no one at the ramp I was able to really relax and launch the boat without any rush. Took it out and just savored the wave crushing ability of this boat. I didn’t run hard, just took my time and concentrated on the experience and didn’t have to worry about any passengers or other boats or a schedule to follow. I don’t know how many of you have done this but I wish I had done it a long time ago. I have launched and trailered by myself many times but always in preparation of others joining me. There is just something about the solitude of being out there all by yourself.

Anyway, I love this boat but I am just going to get out of the boating thing for a while. I have a lot of friends with boats so I can usually catch a ride if I really need to get out there. I just need the room at the house and don’t want to pay for storage. I have to move the boat every time I need to get work equipment out and it is a major pain and time consuming. Also need to concentrate on building my business so selling all my toys (boat, a couple Harley’s, 32 Ford hot rod, etc). I want to eliminate all the distractions.

Over fifteen years of living in So Cal dealing with traffic, horrible customer service, spoiled kids, gold diggers, onslaught of illegal alliens, over crowding, outrageous housing and land prices, rude people, etc, etc, etc. Hoping to retire in five years and move to a rural area (maybe Carolinas?). Focusing on that plan as motivation! :D

I'd move back to NH but can't deal with the winters! :D

Baja
I used to live in Simi (my brother and ex still do) back in 69 when it was mostly orange groves. Learned to fly at the old airport. Before the 118 when san su pass was the only way in and out. (we were pioneers)I know what you mean about wanting to get out. I did and its the best thing that I ever did. I last lived near Erringer and Cochran, by the Gemco store. Good luck selling the boat, email me about the Harleys.

Wholeheartedly agree. Its peacefully rewarding when its just you and the boat out there.

Good luck selling the Cig.

Sounds exactly why I moved out of Clearwater. I'm so much happier here.

Airport is gone as well as Gemco! I'm sure you wouldn't recognize the place now. It has changed a lot just since I've been here. I've seen photos of what it used to be like when it was all citrus. It looked pretty nice.
