LipShip 99' Tiger
Does anyone know anything about the 99' Tiger at Lipship's place. It has Zul 900's with 6's. Seems like it has been there a good while, just curious if there is a story behind it or not

Re: LipShip 99' Tiger
The boat was originally built for Allison and Dino Cancilleri (sp). He was a return Lip Ship Customer and I think he got tired of the size. No issues jsut was a little uncomfortable handling it by himself. So he went back to a 38 If memory serves me right. I think that it then went to Frank Zamiello as an interim boat before he moved up to one of the first 46 Rough Riders. (Mr. Zamiello's Rider was a coverboat for Powerboat Mag a few years back) Not 100% sure but I think that's right.
It's a Straight Bottom built right around the same time as The other all white 42 that Phil had for so long that belonged to Martin Edmonson (sp). I think that the orginal printed specs for the boat as featured in Yachts International quoted it as Cruise 80 Top Speed 95 or so. Big Zul's for power 900+ hp each. Hope this helps. Best, Rice Hauler |

Hey Rob you sure have been around alot lately, the boat broken or what??? :D :D Hope to see you on a run soon. We're planning on getting out to Fl when Chets 43 Nor Tech is done. Maybe for the Miami boat show too. We'll have to hook up.

Tank,
Great seeing your voice. Yeah, Still going through boating withdrawl. Now that I'm really getting up to speed and feeling really good again. I can't wait to get into another one. Haven't spoken to Chet for a couple of months what's the latest on the 43. Probably not doing key west but we are definitely planning on The Miami Boat Show run. Hope to see you there or maybe Easter again. Best, Rob.. |

Re: LipShip 99' Tiger
Thinks R.H.
That pretty well answers my questions. I am trying to find some information on what the weight of the Tigers are per year. I believe that Tiger-1's boat weight around 11,500, but GLH's only weighs 9800lbs. Does anyone know the differences in these hulls? Is it a different lay-up or something else? Thanks again Corey P.S. Tiger-1, I spoke with you and am definitely keeping your boat in mind. |
Re: LipShip 99' Tiger
Corey,
The other white '42 Tiger with 900 Zul's and #6 drives that Lipship had ended up here in Toledo. Squirted with red/white/blue and checkered flag graphics. He is in our club (LEOPA) and it is one sweet ride! He does run 95-100 m.p.h. with straight bottom. Having a 382 Formula, it is one of the few boats I am envious of. Good luck in your upward move! Ours has a covergirl cabin, so does Tiger-1 I think, an extended cover-girl would affect weight a little also. Also #3's or 6's with the transom assemblies and the trannies might be pushing the weight up to handle the higher power. Just a theory again, more knowledgeable people might want to chime in. |
Re: LipShip 99' Tiger
Thats what I am trying to find out. If Vacuum bagging the hulls creates some weight savings. Hey G.L. how did the Columbus Day run go?? Haven't talked with you in awhile.
RedDog, you are in the exact same frame of mind as me. I already have a very nice boat, but theres just something about the Tiger that really turns me on. |

Re: LipShip 99' Tiger
Thanks Dino,
that sure is a pretty boat. I am researching whats out there right now so in the spring I can go shopping. I definitely plan on speaking with Phil as well as visiting Martin Marine. From what I understand these are the two experts. Thanks for posting! Corey |

My friend just put his 2000 Tiger up for sale. It has 500EFI & XR drives. Stock power that can get you 70+ MPH. Boat is like new and needs nothing. Check it out in the Classified Section.

Re: LipShip 99' Tiger
There are several factors that effect the weight of the Tiger - besides engine / drive package. In 1999 Cig started vacuum bagging the layup which saved weight and increased strength. Also in mid 1999 they began using encapsulated stringers which saved about 150lbs - but lost a little strength. The cabin (covergirl, or full cabin also makes a big difference). The best combo is a vacuum bagged hull, with the standard stringers - they weigh a little more - but are stronger (like my Tiger :drink: )
BTW my 1999/2000 Tiger is for sale - Merc 900SC and #6 dry sump drives - impeccable condition! Reliable and fast - just ask Tank! |

Re: LipShip 99' Tiger
YA - I'll be in SB - looking forward to it.... As for my next boat - probably going to be a 27 foot Hallett, or a 25 foot Howard. - I know, it's going the wrong direction- but I kinda miss the lake stuff (wake boarding) plus I can always pimp a ride if I get the urge to offshore.

Youre crazy dude! I;ll just trade you straight across for the Baja! :D By the way, I have numbers for you for the hotels and some docking info. Tank |
Re: LipShip 99' Tiger
Lonestar383, Call Nortech. I believe the Cig you are asking about is being traded in for a new 39. The boat is very clean and well maintained from what I know.

Hey, I know those Dorks with the ORANGE life vest on. They said they had a ride of their life. That's one of my favorite pictures. I have it framed on my wall at home.
