Ha ha ha I'm a dork. It says so on the darn thing.... I just took a quick glance at it and I have seen similar paint jobs on cafes and not on top guns. That's why I asked...
Did they use the same paint scheme for all Cig boats that year?

You might try calling CMC, real honest guys and do allot of high end boats.

Ask for Chip or Jeff, probably get more info out of Chip he he knows the boat.

Here is a link for them.

The 5's are a good drive, but they are basically a shorter version of the 3A. You wont see them on true deep V's because they dont sit deep enough in the water for most guys taste / preference when at speed. You are either coming up out of the water with great frequence having to be on and off the sticks all the time, or you are having to run the boat at an angle that isnt efficient. Outerlimits is really the only V manufacturer that has used them from time to time. You will see 5's moreso on cats.

Hmmmm

Jassman runs five's on his Nortech.

Leopajm, ran five's on his 41' Saber, no steps.

Could call CMC, ask there input to.........

Here's fives too .... should run with "boxes" though ....

Thanks Guys ! Keep the ideas coming !! Cats...Thats what i heard also {From Someone I respect ALOT} I have access
to spacers though...1" 2" 3"......If depth is the only problem. This boat will be on Erie & The Ocean so rough water is more important to me than all out top end.

Yep, the boxes help put them deeper in the water at a point similar to where the 3A's would be.

Since the box puts the prop further aft, the water has more time to come up to the prop. "Next" had V's and boxes and ran great. Tres and others like V's and boxes over #6 because of the lighter weight. Resale is better on the six because there still in production and of course it handles more power.

I have heard that a V with a box is pretty similar to a #6 in terms of drive height and X... never measured it tho...

For resale, bravos may be better. For rough water running, I wouldn't hesitate for a second to buy a TG with V's over a bravo rig.

my $0.02

Don't forget that a Speedmaster prop (1) is around $1,500 used.

If you look at all the early 90's Cafe's and guns they shared same paint schemes. With all the new 'one off' designs and crazy paint jobs they dont do it as much anymore. But look at the pic taken in Havasu of the two Gladiators (Jeffs being one of them) Same paint scheme, different colors.

That wave graphics shown on the Gun in this thread was REALLY popular in the early 90's on both guns and Cafe's. In the late 80's to real early 90's there was the straight line down the side that went across the hatch that was used on both Guns and Cafes.

I think that 'wave' paint scheme still looks good today though. Its' not too dated.

Re: Anybody Know this boat ?

Boxes are the way to go if you don't mind all the work involved.

1) New Tranmissions. You new flange mount trans to run drive shafts$$
2) Build drive shafts.
3) Possibly move motors. Depends on drive height.
4) Props $$$$$$

From the pictures this boat has the drive mounted deep enough to leave well enough alone. Remember that the notched tansom almost gives the boat the feel of boxes. And if rough water ability is your goal and not top speed I don't feel it it worth the $$$$$$$.

my $.02

This all adds up

Don't worry about Wasabe, met her in Miami last Feb she's like 6'1" and could kick my azz if I'd get her nose out of shape (now how could I do that!)
