Getting a Bullet on Plane

I took the Bullet out for the first time yesterday. I'm trying to get to know the boat. I put the boat in gear and slowly started to give it throttle knotch by knoch slowly. I had the drives at 4 and tabs at 2. Before the boat came up on plane, I noticed some slight vibration and was experiencing what felt like slipping of the props. (RPM's shooting up and boat not going anywhere) I was wondering what was causing it? Should I have the drives all the way down when trying to get on plane? Or was I experiencing cavitation? I'm not sure but when I put the drives farther down the boat seemed to plane easier with much less vibration and slip. Maybe I was just going to easy on the throttles or a combination off all? I just don't know with a boat this size and weight the best way to plane it the best. Please advise? Thanks

I usually tuck everything down, throttle up. Alternate your tabs/trim up little by little. Usualy several times is all it will take.

No tabs needed. Put the drives all the way down and 2800-3000 rpms..you will be on plane in 4-5 seconds. Then raise your drives to about 3 (that's neutral). Water conditions will determine what to do after that.

Be careful and have fun.

Also, I was told by the previous owner that one the boat is on plane the drives like to be around 3-4 as a "sweet spot" on the boat in slight chop. Do you agree or ???

Drives all the way in when taking off always.

After it's on plane you'll get the feel for the boat by driving it. Just don't plow that's for snow!

You just have to drive it and get some seat time to get the feel for it. If the boat starts porpoising (bow going up and down) , your running the drives too far up. Lower them and it will level out. I only use my tabs to keep the boat from listing from rough water or wind. You'll figure it out...
