any 35ft mistress owners out there?
 

i just bought a 79 mistress and am repowering for winter project. wondering how many other mistress owner are here on oso, either current or previous owners. would like to know more about the history of these.were very many rigged with ssm#3a's like mine or is this an uncommon set up on a mistress? im building blown 588's 900hp, wondering what top speed should be with this kinda hp. would luv to see some pics of old mistresses. mine has an all teak cabin that looks awsome, was the the stadard interior back in the day?thx n peace out. ratman

I spoke to Craig Barrie last week re: Mistresses and he said he built some Mistresses in the 80's with #3s(a??) and big power. Drop CB an email and he might get back to ya ... if he ever gets a break from hemming the pants he's been working on :eek: :eek: :D lol

Will be a nice setup with blown 588's there ratman :cool: I would have to say strong, mid eightys with those #'s ... but only guessing :( Wonder what #'s with mild blown 468s and SSM#3s?? ...... to be continued ...... :)

Mine was a '78 and I loved it. With a pair of 468's and TRS's, I saw 65 on a good day. Here are some pics.

We had an '84 Mistress that we totally re-did. Notice the Mercedes emblem :D. It was a Kevlar boat. I think it had a pair of 454s. TRS Drives. Ran in the low 70s.

I almost bought one. I had it from a good source that the trannies were shot. So I passed. I think it had III's and 425 hp 454's. At around 10,000 lbs, she was underpowered, maybe running 68. Throw all the power you can at it, and that boat will crush the waves. I'm with you on all the cool teak..really classic! Good luck, it'll be a fun project.
