Do I sell the Tiger?

Attention all Cig guys. Need your final opinion. Do I sell the Tiger and get a 36 Nor-tech cat? Post quickly.
Thanks, Addiction |

Only if you get a bigger cat than a 36...what kind of water do you run in?

Re: Do I sell the Tiger?
I run in Gulf and the West Coast of Florida. Usually flat shallow waters in the Gulf. But can get nasty. I just don't go out in that stuff.

Re: Do I sell the Tiger?
Here is my useless $.02:
I looked at a 3600 Super-Cat up close last weekend. It's very nice without a doubt. The boat has great looking lines. However, I thought the cabin entrance was a little weird and the dash set-up was funky. I also think when you buy a big cat like this Bravos don't cut it. 525EFI are great but I truly think the #6 Speedmasters need to be put on a boat this size. Plus, you can upgrade the power without upgrading the drives. The most important question is, do you need a cabin? If you do, without a doubt go with the Nor-Tech. Also, they seem to do a lot of the Poker Runs in South Florida so that is a bonus if you ever have a problem. If you don't use a cabin, I would probably look at a little older Skater for the same money. We use a cat while up in N.J. If we were able to make the cat work down here we would without a doubt have one. People say they aren't great in rough water, but we have been out in some nasty water (5-6s) and the boat handled great. We don't use a cabin so we would probably go with the Skater. The ride in a cat is unbelievable and the speeds you can obtain are unmatched by V-bottoms. Unless, you have a 47 GTX with 1300 Sterlings  I would say, sell the Cig. If you need a cabin go with the Nor-Tech, if you don't go with the Skater. LS JR. |

Can't you get a bigger cat?

Re: Do I sell the Tiger?
Other choice is a 2000 40 Skater. Both are mucho dinero!

Re: Do I sell the Tiger?
The 40 skater...you need the size for the safety reasons..plus what jr said.

Re: Do I sell the Tiger?
Kick ass ride both of them.
addiction earlier you said that for the boating you do a Cat would be enough... I think you have to figure out what you really do with your rig. I know if I did not have a wife and 1-3/4 kids that I take out every WE I would be in a Nor-Tech as soon as you can say it. Down the line however my way to a Nor-tech is to keep honey happy and that will require a big ride (more than likely Sunseeker Superhawk) if I change the Tiger. Once she has that then I can work on a Nor-tech. Like I said earlier figure what you want to do for boating and choose the ride. That Tiger looks like a million bucks dude. |
Re: Do I sell the Tiger?
a nor-tech 3600 will handle water rough enough that you don't want to be in it in the first place... i agree w/ LS JR, get the 6's or arneson's no matter what the power and enjoy, there is enough cabin there to get out of a storm or to take care of business... :D the only downside to a cat is insurance, and if you are looking at rides like this, that really doesn't matter either... have fun....
