Removing wood around cabin door

I want to remove the teak that surrounds the cabin door and would like to replace it with white Lexan or something like that. Any suggestions?

Not sure but the wood looks like it has been screwed down in recessed holes then a plug has been added to fill the hole. Of course would require removal of plug then screws. I haven't done it so not positive. Maybe somone has some experience and can shed some light on it. Good luck.

I would guess that you are right. The wood is held with screws that have plugs to cover them up.
Take the wood and cover it with thin foam and then vinyl. Use screw caps to finnish the look.
I'm doing that on my boat. It came with a teak door that dated it, so I'm replacing it with a zippered door. The trim will be as I described about.
Then again, It's only a Fountain...:)

Tres or Phil can supply the pre cut pieces of plastic. I would stick with the teak. I have seen the white plastic with the colored stripes crack numerous times on a Cafe I have here. The teak on my Top Gun does not crack. To remove it look for the plugs and insert a screw into them. The mounting screws are under the plugs. Come on Spring...

Hi Biggus. How is Tim's TG project coming along? Post pictures. And dyno sheets.

That boat is too nice to screw up.Forget paint, forget vinyl.Call Cigarette, pay the extra$$,and get the factory acycrlic. It will update the boat very nicely, look stock, and give you the results you will be happy with.
