38 Tiger and 38 Top Gun??
 

What is the differance in say a 38 Tiger and a 38 TG in say year 2000. Did one have stepps?? is it just paint?? Hull same different packages?? help me out?

They made a mistake it's a 42 ft boat in that listing.

Regarding steps on Tigers I have seen one 2001 Tiger without steps and the others all had steps so as far as i know Steps on TIgers started on 2001 models.

On TS/TG I think they started on 2000 models but I am not positive about that.

There were 3 types of Topguns in 2000.There was old style dash non step,new style dash non step and new style dash twin step.

I believe that the boat in question comes from Lake Erie. It's been around for a while and has not seen too much use. The owner also owns(ed) a Sea Ray 50. feel free to PM me for more details.
As for the 2000 TG.
There was also a very small run of Single Step Old style dash that were made. 12 or less if I am correct maybe some were 1999's. Maxx race boat was one. The Sony Race Boat was another and I think Havoline Race Boat were all single step (prototype) boats for Cig. The Michael Peters stepped up to the ball and the true 2001 Twin Step came about. While we are discussing it. There is also a significant difference in the 2000 and 2001 twin step. In that the latter year came out of an All new Mold for Cig. (first new mold in the history of the TG I think) The difference is that the Mold Work was much cleaner and the Transom was finally "trued up" Take a good look at pre 2001 TG's and you will notice that there is almost a inch difference in the transom measurements from side to side.
