mistress fuel system question
where are the fuel tanks located in a 1979 mistress? what is the capacity of each tank? on the side of the cockpit below the sticks is a switch that looks like a valve to switch from one take to the other. i will be running big power and don't want fuel delivery problems. what is the best way to plumb the fuel system? should i run 1 engine off each tank and eliminate the switching valve (it's small 3/8th and i will be running #10 fuel lines to the pump) ? thx for any info you can share. ratman

Re: mistress fuel system question
My 1976 28SS has all three tanks plumbed to two switches, one for each motor, then to two electric booster pumps feeding mechanical pumps on each engine.
Who in the hell thought THAT arrangement up! |
Re: mistress fuel system question
my 78 mistress has a 160 gallon tank under the cockpit floor
& a 60 gal tank under the v birth. |
Re: mistress fuel system question
should be one in the floor and one in the v-berth. about 220 gallons. the valve switches from front to rear tank. should be a valve for each engine.

Re: mistress fuel system question
On my Formula I used 1/2" full ported SS ball valves. The need to be rated WOG (water, oil, gas). Imco also has a hi flow electric valve. Why not just plumb the two tanks together and feed each engine separately from the rear tank.
