New Cig pull rig even has the mandatory tattoos on the back window!
Went GM / Allison tranny so I can give a ride to Stecz when his tranny goes cones-up.

good luck with that s h i t box... i like the color you picked.

Re: New Cig pull rig.

one thing about that color ...easy to keep! I had pewter '02 HD and it didn't look like much from a distance, but up close the paint itself was very nice, and the most forgiving, easy color I've ever owned...and I've had a few. :D

That's Silver Birch correct GL? Which was basically the replacement in the color palet for the Pewter.

Finishing up final mock up of stellings headers as we speak.

Waiting to finish before posting the Pics.

Stezc;

At least he did not buy a Dodge :D (sorry Brett) so his doors probably will stay attached for a while. :D

Is it really mitsubishi? I thought they were a close tie into chrysler.

Two things I do like...The tranny and the "don't have to wash daily" color.

It's an Isuzu... the latest LLY/Allison engine is a damm good package, probably one of the most advanced diesels on the market at this time.

After 12 years of diesel domination, Ford threw them a bone for a year by givng them the 10 or whatever foot pounds for a year or two.

Expect big numbers when the bump up the displacement form 6 litres.

I would like it more if it were a "made in America" engine

I have the 2500 HD with the duramax and the allison. considering adding the edge. What's the pro's and con's? Not overly impressed with my max. The ford out pulled me with the same load by quite a bit. Just had new injectors installed (warrenty). Typically, how fast do you pull a 35 or 38 cig? What should I expect to see from my truck?

I don't know what the comparison is with the Edge since I bought the truck from a friend and the chip was already installed. I do know it hauls AZZ and tows our Top gun like nothings back there. I heard that the first generation Duramax engines had problems wit hteh injectors. They fixed it on the '04 and up models.

The guy I bought it from towed his non-stepped tiger with it however, he did end up getting a King Ranch F-350 due to the fact the tiger fully loaded with the steel Myco trailer was over the max load for the GMC. The king ranches max load is up near 20k!

Sorry to disappoint you Cig brothers, but I pull my Cigs with a Dodge.

Ram 2500 (no dually) with Edge chip pulls the Top Gun and steel Myco trailer 70-80 mph on cruise control.

I try to keep it 72-75mph, but it's capable of 85+.

......I'd rather be Cummin.......than Strokin' :D :D

not hard to do when your truck is ailing w/bad injectors...hell that ford 6 liter might have even gotten by it if the Max  was really sick.

I know a few dudes towing big fivers with both...the ford will not get by the Max...especially on long grades. What I hear is the ford goes gear hunting with the Navistar's narrower powerband/poorly programmed tourqesh*tz... and the Max/Ally just picks a gear, holds a steady R and just yarns on by.

Even with new injectors it doesn't seem to pull like it did when it was new. Mine is an 03. Got 75K on right now. Pulling.... I'm still pulling snowmobiles so were talking about 5000 lbs. Will be getting the scarab out of storage soon. (sorry cig guys, still lookin to upgrade to the cig) But still, I'm talkin bout pulling 11-12K with the scarab. I'll be talkin to some more people about adding a chip. But you are right about the allison. What a great transmission.
