i have been restoring this boat for the past 4 years. I was going to change over to a bravo I from the alpha i have now this year but the crankshaft in my 350 broke and i had to build a new motor so i didnt have the money to update the drive this year. I built the motor i was going to run with the the bravo knowing the alpha wouldnt hold up long but i didnt think it would eat it up in 3 weekends. I was wrong.

could someone point me in the right direction on how to set up the boat for the new power? what bravo drive can i get away with. standard / or xz , xr? I have been told a stock bravo should do just fine. Also i would like to know what x dimension for the best speed. What trim tabs should i use. Any help would be great.

I have been on alot of the superboat forums reading up on their setups and i have a good idea of where to start but i have no idea if my 79 excalibur is an exact hull as the old supers or not. How much dose my hull weigh and how fast should it go with the right rigging?

I have a 27 Avanti which is very similar to your hull. We have a Saris Racing 525 in her and with the wrong pro we can do 65 on gps. Hoping to hit 70 all said and done.
