My 75 just prior to selling it. Hope the new Mirage is as good of a boat. Loved the Magnum.

After having two 29' Mirages & now having two Magnums I know the boats very well. I think you will like the extra room [cockpit, cabin, & the engine bay ] you will have with the 29' Mirage. The only Magnum [ in the size ] that comes close the Mirages attributes is the Sedan, but as I have said Sedans are a acquired taste.

After many years of farting around trying to make this boat right, I have finally accomplished it... Just to review it was a 21 Seacraft the original design of Carl Moesly, founder of Seacraft. This hull (not mine) has won a lot of races off shore back in the 60's.
Even though the boat was built for racing , back then it was sold for a weekender and picnic type boat. I chose the sissy route and made it into a Picnic Boat with a 383 stroker so we can get to the lunch places in style.

A picture of one of the racers, and the other mine.

Here's my very rare 1984 Checkmate 2800SX Outboard. This is the sister boat to the Ashland Express race boat and came from the factory layed up in AME 4000 resin, blue printed bottom, beefed up transom for tripples, 96 gallon fuel tank, tripple motor pre rig. The current setup duplicates the old Ocean Outboard raceboat with 24" Gil Marine setback brackets, motors at 18" centers, twin Mercury 2.4's etc. The boat has gone through a complete restoration starting with a new fuel tank, stringers & floor about 7 years ago. Brand new cabin has just been completed and a new cockpit is in the works right now.
