Ratman...here is your new toy!!!

Here are some photos of Ratman's new toy. Back in the days when it was a working boat for a living.

In 1978 in it's very first race, the boat was clocked from the air at the end of the race, quote..."whistling over the Pacific Ocean swells at 94.3 MPH."

It led from start to finsh and won the 195.5 mile race.

charlie if it went 94 with 750 na's, what do you think it will run with 1050's?

I think you have a good chance of breaking 98 or so with Stecz's props.

so you think i should run 14" x 19 pitch props, i have to turn rpms like an f1 car to go 65 :evilb: thx for posting pics of my new ride, keep em coming as you go thru you picture collection. im trying to figure what props to try first, im guessing it should run 112-115 with the engines im gonna run does that sound realistic to you? thx again charlie, talk to you soon. rm

I saw that thing run on the SF Bay when I was a kid. I loved the seeing "Real" offshore racing back then. Not like this nancy run-around-the-buoys racing they do now.

i hear ya brother, i love watching the old school races on dvd, the conditions they race in and the big air is too hip

We're just heading out on the Bay this morning. Not too many stepped-n-padded boats like to run out there. Too rough for the tender bottom! :evilb:

I'll take my old resin bucket wave crusher over a fast flat water lake boat any day.
