Little,
That boat looks like the original "Rolling Thunder" Conquest. I'm sure T2x will chime in to confirm?? Check out photo in post #7.

She's a Conquest...see below in her original colors.

My favorite project of all the race hulls we did. She had 4 Champ Boat motors on the tail and ran about 15 mph faster than the existing record in her class (Modified) on her first test run. Sadly, the owner was an inboard guy and never fully understood what he had. It wound up in Europe with 4 stock engines...... a completely different arrangement without the speedmaster lower units and race props.

The Conquests were constructed of wood, Akoume Plywood to be precise (see below). Unlike traditional wood construction, however, Ken Adams used a unique composite laminating technique that we developed and interspersed bi and tri axial fibreglass between thin layers of plywood for the skin. The end result had as much fibreglass as a Shadow cat....... without the molds... and was stronger than any other materials that we experimented with. We made various test panels with different thicknesses of wood and experimented with Kevlar, and other exotics (even aluminum) in the laminates...our final combination gave the most strength and durability while maintaining a suitable weight.

I had grown tired of molded hulls during the Shadow days and felt limited by them. Of all of the Conquests that we built only two were identical. The 35 foot Jesse James and an exact copy that was built for Stu Hayim immediately after............
