Old Rocky pics?

Greeting from Norway! :)
First; this is a GREAT forum! :drink: :drink:

I`m about to bild me a new RC offshore raceboat, and have found a hull that`s nearly exactly like the ol` french "Rocky Euromache". I saw that boat in Arendal, Norway, back in 1987, when Didier Pironi won with his "Colibri". Man what a race! The weekend after, Pironi was killed. :(
Anyway; I`m now looking for pics of Rocky. So if you have any, I`d be very pleased if you would e-mail them to me.

And BTW; my next project is to build Colibr, so if anyone of you have any pics of thatone too, feel free to send me a copy.:)
My e-mail is jon(at)rcmesse.no (change the (at) with a @)

So long....

the Colibri is in a museum in Loheac, France completly restored but the hull was badly damaged during the storage after Didier Pironi death .
another hull was built for pleasure and was for a long time in a shipyard in Sainte Maxime in South of France, but I dont know where is it now.

Thanks for all the pics, guys. You`re absolutly the BEST! :drink:
And WOW! What a nice model!!! Is there any plans for getting in running (radiocontrolled)? What are the measurments of this hull??? What is it made of??? This could be a real fast boat with a Zenoah 260 mod. engine (26 ccm)!!!
Maybe you should start producing them for us RC-speed-freaks!

Here are some pics of my "Rocky"-project. The hull is made by Aeromarine Laminates (http://www.aeromarinerc.com/).

The boat will be powerd by a Zenoah, have the "Rocky" graphics from -87, and hopefully be very fast (about 60 mph+).
Since I can`t afford to race the "big ones" I`ll live the dream in these models. And I`ll tell you for sure; there are lots of dramatic in these races when 8-10 of these offshore monsters race together! :D

Here are some pics from the museum where you can see "Colibri".
The pictures has been found on the net and you`ll find more here at Jan Möller`s website about Pironi: www.didierpironi.net/loheac2005.html

If there are even more pics and info `bout Colibri & Rocky out there; feel free! :drink:

I have to deliver that one before Christmas and don't have time to pull a mold of the deck. I do have the hull mold I designed and built years ago and am in the process of designing a new deck to run as an RC. We just got that one back from the decal shop and are mounting the #5's we now have a mold for and are getting ready to ship it. I should have some great shots to post by sunday.

Yes. The former F1-driver Didier Pironi and the rest of his crew of 2 after the boat hit a wave from a small tanker and went airborne. Came down upsidedown.....:-(
