Trying to track down the "Pegasus"
Hi all,
I'm new to the board and am trying to track down my father's old boat. It was a 1977 Mirage, looked just like many of the mirage 9 meter's that are pictured in the Old School Ride thread. The boat had black sides and white hull and deck and the name "Pegasus" was painted on both sides of the boat. He had some "cigarette" decals on the side glass to try and fool people into thinking that it was a cigarette. The vent hatches on the front deck were side by side and not tandem. It also had 4 small oval windows in the berth, 2 on each side which he had custome installed when he bought it, so this would be a dead give away as these were not an option on that boat. I'd love to be able to track down this boat and possibly get some pictures of it so if anyone has any info about it I'd appreciate it. Thanks. |
There was a 32 Hustler called Pegasus Express... Not at all like you describe and I think it was built in 84...
anyone remember it? |
I think I remember both boats....BP Pegasus B-16 was a 32FT Hustler that raced in B-Class on the US Offshore circut in 1993.The boat was based out of Westfield NJ if I remember correctly.I think the Mirage Pegasus was also based out of NJ and ran in the APBA Production Class in the late seventies to early eighties.

My father's boat was originally out of Annapolis, he bought it in 1978 and sold it in the mid 1990's. It spent the majority of it's time in the Lake Ontario and Alexandria Bay area on the St. Lawerence river. I'm not sure where it went when he sold it, but I don't believe it was ever used for racing, unless the previous owner raced it prior to my father buying it in '78.

Does anyone know if the DMV will help you track down who owns the boat now using old reg. numbers?
|
Do you have the hull ID?
|
Actually I'm not sure what I've got, I'm not sure I even have old registrations, but I figure that my parents must have kept some records. Is the hull ID on the registration card like a VIN # would be?
|
Yes the hull id is like a vin#, usually located on the transom of the boat. Do you have an email address I can contact you at?
|
yup, [email protected]
