Thunderbird, I admire you for taking on this restoration and preserving a piece of history. This is really cool I enjoyed seeing the pictures. Thanks

Very cool project. What are the chances you could put a LLC together and get a few investors? I see there are no current posts. Just a thought.

To busy playing with airplanes, just picked up another beech staggerwing 1943.
still looking for the turbines for this boat. I have 12 turbine motors but none of them are correct. Anybody want some turbines? |
What a find!!!!!
I remember reading about it and seeing pictures in Motor Boating magazine back in the day. I used to draw pictures of it!!! I am so glad people such as yourself are finding and restoring these boats. Far too many are being scrapped. There's a gentleman I converse with on Facbook who owns and races the original Dry Martini Cigarette. He also has the Keikhaefer Aeromarine III that Doc Magoon drove as well as Betty Cooks KAAMA. All three are in the UK. |
Forgot to add that the Top Banana boat is now in Thailand being restored but will be running outboards in place of IO's due to costs.
